You may want to reconsider limewire, as it's the home of various nasty viruses, allegedly placed there by protective music industry folk

I have aproblem with my sound. I've just installed new OS windows xp black edition 32. bit, it's all OK but there is no sound just yellow mark with " Audio device on High definition audio" mo

Hello you can download the driver here:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5GL-MX&p=1&s=22

By selecting windows xp, and open the Audio folder, and click global for download.

The audio file needs to be unziped, before you install the driver.

Reboot after the install is done.
Update the other drivers, if any missing.

The audio file is newer present, in the xp installation file.

Good luck

ASUS Eee PC 1000H DIY 1000HE chiclet keyboard upgrade

ASUS have been gradually transitioning to chiclet-style keyboards on their Eee PC netbooks, with the latest model to get the new style being the Eee PC 1000HA. If you're an existing owner looking longingly at the new layout, meanwhile, and specifically have an ASUS Eee PC 1000H, you can fudge your own update with the keyboard from the Eee PC 1000HE.

It's not just an aesthetic upgrade, either. ASUS bizarrely played around with the keyboard layout on the 1000H, one of the most obvious changes being the right-hand shift key getting nudged across by the up arrow. The 1000HE keyboard, however, has a more standard layout.

There's a little modification required before the keyboard panel slots in - basically snipping off a few metal tabs - but it looks relatively easy from EeeUser.com forum member Barovelli's photos (some of which are reproduced here). Not all users are reporting 100-percent key success, however, so don't throw away your old 'board.

The replacement 1000HE keyboard is priced at $15 through ASUS; however, it's currently listed as out of stock.

My new ASUS Eee PC 1005HAB's screen is damaged. Is there a replacement screen available that we can purchase? Please let me know, thankyou. Breana Sims

If this is accidental damage not under warranty you may have a problem. If you can source a screen you must weigh the cost of purchase and labor. You can buy a recerified ASUS EEE PC from Newegg.com for as little as $230 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=4016&IsNodeId=1&Description=ASUS%20Eee%20PC&name=Recertified
For $76 you can get a replacement screen from ScreenTek
http://www.screentekinc.com/froogle-series-Asus--EEE_PC--1000HG--10.0--wsvga--LED.shtml or Google search for "ASUS Eee PC replacement screen"
Can you get someone to install it for less than $150? That's your break even. Or DIY.

Pc reboot ramdomly or freeze after a while

HI! THE ONE QUESTION I NEED TO KNOW IS WHAT OS? JUST GENERALLY I WOULD SAY THAT YOU MIGHT TRY TO UPDATE THE OS TO THE LATEST VERSION. AGAIN, NOT KNOWING THE OS, THIS IS A FIX I WOULD TRY. YOU SAID THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AFTER YOU INSTALLED THE OS, BUT WHAT ELSE WAS INSTALLED ALSO? YOU MIGHT NEED TO LOOK AT ALL PROGRAMS TO BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE LATEST VERSIONS AND THAT THEY ARE COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR OS. SO, THESE ARE SOME IDEAS FOR NOW. TRY THEM AND IF NO LUCK, REPLY AND LET ME KNOW THE OS YOU ARE USING AND THE PROGRAMS INSTALLED. OK? I'LL BE GLAD TO HELP.

Problem loading win XP-SP2

Don;t know if this is the cause of u're errors, but it might be do to the motherboard chipset drivers (the lack of them in u're windows version). If so, u have to make a copy of u're windows cd with all u're motherboard drivers included, and try to install with that cd. The same problem appears to all new laptops that do not offer XP support and only Vista support . In order to do the new XP cd, u\ll need a little program that u'l find on internet..... (for example: n-lite)
