I can't watch a dvd because I need the password and I don't have it. I tried reset button, preference and change the password, but it asked me the old password. What can I do????

If you are sure your password should not have changed, go into you mail settings and re-enter your password. Choose Mail>Preferences and select the account button. Fill in screens that follow.

If that does not work, contact Google mail and ask for a password reset. Then enter that information into your mail program.
If you want to keep your present password (sounds like you do) once you get access to your email account again using the new reset password, change your password back to the password you like. You basically override the new reset password and reenter your favorite password.

Resetting a user's password
Note: These steps are for Mac OS X v10.3 or later. For information about resetting a password in Mac OS X v10.2.8 or earlier, see the Additional Information section below.

1. Log in with an administrator account. Tip: If you don't know the password of any administrator accounts, see "Resetting the original administrator account password" below.
2. From the Apple menu choose System Preferences.
3. From the View menu choose Accounts.
4. Click the lock button if it appears locked; enter the administrator password.
5. Select the username whose password you want to change.
6. Click the Reset Password button (Mac OS X v10.3 and v10.4) or the Change Password button (Mac OS X v10.5 or later).
7. Enter a new password in both the Password and Verify fields, and add a hint if desired.
8. Click the Reset Password button (Mac OS X v10.3 and v10.4) or the Change Password button (Mac OS X v10.5 or later).
9. If a dialog box appears with the message "Your Keychain password will be changed to your new account password," click OK.

1. Place a DVD that prompts you for your password in your PS2. If you have any R rated DVDs sitting around, one of those should work just fine. It should prompt you for the password before anything else comes up.

2. Select "Yes" to playing the movie and select "Yes" again to temporarily suspend parental controls. This is where you would put in the password if you knew it and the DVD would play. You may try "1111" at this point, as it is often the password. If that doesn't work, continue through the next few steps.

3. Press the "Select" button on the screen that wants you to input the password. This should change the text on the screen from "Enter Password" to "Delete Password."

4. Input the numbers "7444" into the box on the screen. This is the universal password needed to delete the current password. Once you input the numbers, you should get a message that says "Deletion Complete." Press the "Select" button again and you should be prompted to enter a new password.

5. Enter a new password for your parental control. Make sure it is something easy that you will remember. Once you enter it in, you will be asked to confirm your new password. Enter it one more time and you should be able to watch any DVD you want.

You may reset the player to factory defaults via the Preferences menu. This step should eliminate the existing password. Additional details can be found in the owner's manual.

all you need to do is go to the screen where it asks for your password while your there press select on you controller and then type in 7444 it will reset your password and let you make a new one

'select' button, then 7444 -> new password

This is the only way to turn "off" parental control lock on the custom setup screen.

1) turn off ps2 with no dvd in drive.
2) turn on ps2 and insert dvd in drive.
3) when it asks about parental password, choose 'yes'.
4) when prompted for password, press 'select'.
5) the prompt will change and say 'delete password'. enter '7444'.
6) enter a new password (0000 works).
7) registration complete, dvd will start playing.
8) once the movie starts, press 'select'.
9) click the 'stop' icon.
10) click the 'stop' icon again (the icon must be gray even when you have it highlighted).
11) navigate to 'custom setup' ('select', setup icon, custom setup icon)
12) move to parental control option, press right directional button, enter password (0000).
13) move down to 'level'.
14) move up to desired level (off is at the top).
15) click 'x'.
16) go back to 'select' menu options, and press 'play'.
17) while movie is playing, eject disk and remove dvd.
18) turn ps2 off using switch on the back, keep off for five seconds.
19) turn on ps2, put dvd back in.
20) happy dance. ;)
