Question about Archos 404 Digital Media Player
Choos 'Repair disk' while connected to your computer, then go onto www.archos.com go into support, downloads, choose your model and clck on download archos..... Then go into my computer click on the archos device after that has finished downloading and drag that file into the archos folder and the rest it does itself.

Have you tryed the reset button at the top of your player. you will need a paperclip to push it.
