Three quarts. Then check the level while the bike is on the side stand. The dipstick is marked "Full Hot" and "Full Cold". Make sure you do not overfill.

Bring engine to operating temperature and then remove the 5/8 inch hex drain plug at the lfet front side of the oil pan. Change the filter also if the oil needs to be changed.

I changed my ,02 roadkings trans. fluid --only 16oz drained out --i had the bike level--put 20oz back in --no reading on dipstick--do you check oil with bike level or on stand--also do you measure level...

Check the level of the transmission lube with the bike standing straight up. The transmission holds between 20 and 24 ounces of oil. I always put 24 ounces in them. It should check on the dipstick without the dipstick screwed in. Do not overfill.

Primary case

3/4 of a quart or bottle of primary chaincase fluid or change to 20/50 synthetic and dont worry about changing it for about 6000 miles the oil can be put in by removeing either cover hope this helps
