Is it electric or gas.

im gonna go with it being electric on this run. if so, most causes are the heating element. they just break due to just being worn. you can only heat for so long. and even not so old units as well.

they are simple to replace or you can get a qualified tech to do it.

now if you have a gas dryer. and its specifically the heat. you may want to take a first look at the high temp switch on the unit. there may be more than one but the most common is right on the exhaust vent along the back. they are usually held in with two screws and its about size of a brachs wrapped mint candy including wrapper (haha good reference) however it dont taste the same. jk.... take this switch to a parts store for washers/dryers and ask them to test it. they are not to expensive and usually are the issue. all they do is function as a safety switch when you unit gets too high on temp..then the switch cuts out the gas supply. the fail in the open position..not allowing signal to go through..simple class ehh..

well gl

First thing I would check is the plug in , is it burnt or discolored? Might have been loose and worked on and off . Could be thermostat , timer or wiring.

Model no. mdg3000aww Sometimes the gas will turn on to heat but will stop before the cloths are dry. Then there are times when the gas will not go on.

Dryer runs but does not heat. It runs continually

If your dryer never quits on its own, then your main selection switch may be bad. Even if the clothes don't dry, the timer should still only run to the end of the cycle and then stop. The problem with the lack of heat could also be caused by a bad timer switch, but that is rare. Usually it is caused by a bad igniter/heat sensor unit. Sometimes you can use a piece of sandpaper and clean the carbon off of the sensor and then it will sense heat when the pilot flame starts, then it will let the gas valve send gas to the main burner. The heat sensor it the part that is in the flame of the pilot light.

Our dryer stopped heating up and will not dry clothes

tif it is most likley the element has gone bad they usually cost about 45 dollars and if you can find a friend to help you replace it its not that hard best bet is to call a used appliance store they usually have them new and in stock do not try going to the manufacture they will charge you double for the same exact part

Dryer has no heat. Tested some of the fuses and they test good. Is there a way to test the igniter with a multimeter?

have you checked the dryer vent that goes through the outside wall sometimes the outlet gets clogged up with lint and the heat will recirculate instead of venting outside, the recirculation somestimes tell the dryer sensor that the clothes are dry and will stop sending heat to the dryer or very little heat clear the vent and see if that helps also check the pipe at the bottom of the dryer they sometimes clog up as well if no sucess call a gas appliance repair service you do not want to fool aroud with gas appliances re igniters or where burners are concerned
