It's either a bad cord or a bad power supply connector.
Most PC power cords are the same and interchangeable.
Also check the connector on the power supply when you unplug it from the computer.
I have had this problem twice ... replace your power supply very easy to replace remove casing
should be on top of your computer were you power cord plugs in .. it would be best to find a used computer and take the power supply out of it most of them are interchangable
Hello Anvar, hi, to run the power supply on its own, you need to short the green wire with the black wire. (plug in the unit)
using a Volt meter, select a range of DC 50V. put the black probe of the voltmeter to any black wire, and the red probe to the ff:
red is 5V
Yellow is 12V
orange is around 3.3V
Blue is negative 12 (switch or interchange the probe to properly read 12V on the voltmeter)
White is negative 5.

As far as I know, this needs a pretty standard 1-amp 12 volt adapter. Radio Shack is probably your best place to find one since they have a supply with interchangeable tips. That way you can find the one that matches the speaker power jack. (If you're not in the US, you can check local electronic supply stores for a suitable replacement.)
Almost all parts are interchangeable- Gentle Annie and Frigidaire are all the same machines- only parts different are main power board in base of machine, and display board- everything else the same. Motors are interchangeable, as long as the plug connection is the same- there are two different types of plug connection (ie male and female plugs are opposite ways around).
Try these sequence(you need another one good computer to test and interchange component and you will find out the problem): - check your RAM, if you use two RAM start
computer using one and interchange it to find out which one is bad - if your RAM OK, check your VGA - if your RAM and VGA OK, try to check your power supply, sometimes defective PS cannot supply sufficient power to all component to work.
Try to clean and change slot of your RAM, if you use two RAM start computer using one and interchange it to find out which one is bad, or try another certain good RAM, if your problem exist test your VGA, if you sure your RAM and VGA is good, test your power supply.
tips: you need one good computer to test and interchange component and you will find out the problem.
E-machines are notorious for having weak power supplies. Although not impossible, it is unlikely the motherboards are damaged.
You may also look online for rebuilt power supplies that are beefed up from the originals.
Be sure you have a good surge suppressor and surge suppression on your phoneline if you use dialup. I also recommend surge suppression on your ethernet connection as well.
