Question about D-Link DIR-625 (790069292637) Wireless Router

1 Answer

D-link dir625 I just bought this router and set it up. When im hard wired to my lapT and when i go wireless on my LapT, everything is fine. The problem is i cant get anyother comps on my router to connect. If i connect my desktop directly to the modem (comcast) it works but when i connect it to the router it wont get an internet connection (light on front of router does say it is there).Like i said LapT always is plugged in and working. I tried different ports still wont work. I cant even seem to reset the router back to factory settings. Any idea on how to get the other comp to connect to the internet?

    Same type of issue here.

    Desktop: Dell Vostro 200.

Comcast installed a RCA cable modem model # DCM 425. I initially set-up the cable modem directly attached to my desktop. Everything works as expected. I put the D-Link DIR 625 access point in line along with the Wifi adapter DWA-130 and I cannot get to the Internet ALTHOUGH I can ping their DNS servers. If I hard wire the desktop into one of the LAN ports on the DIR-625, I can get out to the Internet. I have also tried to clone the PCs MAC address on the DIR-625 with no luck.

Also, ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) keeps turning on which I find unusual. Any help is appreciated.

When your laptop is working, check the ip address.
Open your DOS PROMPT, type iconfig then click enter. If your ip address on the laptop is 192.168.x.x, that means that you are getting your internet from the router. If your ip address is (just an example:68.x.x.x, that means that the router is not functioning properly.

If the laptop ip is 68.x.x.x(just an example), make sure that your comcast modem is connected to the INTERNET PORT of your router.

You just bought your router so the best way to deal with this problem is call Dlink tech support so they can walk you thru the router configuration.

Good Day

Where can i find the set up wizard of my router

Just enter the default IP in a web browser. It should be
User: Admin Password: [none / blank] Unless it has been configured. To clear setting, just hold the reset in the back till it cycles.

This is demo: A non-functioning emulator to see the routers interface. Check it out.

D-link DIR625 stopped working

Look in the documentation for instructions on defaulting the router to factory settings. Default the router and only plug in a wired connection and see if you have internet access. If you do setup your wireless and check for any problems. If you do all of this and it still doesn't work power the unit down and plug a cable in the WAN port and the other end in port 1. Boot the unit up and try again. If it still doesn't work it's time to replace

Netgear wirless and acer laptop/ lapt. not seeing mac address/net

Probably your adapter has one ip fixed address.
Check on the network, your ip adapter settings and be sure that the option "obtain the ip address automatically" is selected.

Go to -->> Control Panel --->> Network Connections --->> Select your connection and go to properties --->> in the center field Select internet protocol TCP/IP---then hit--Properties---Go to General and set your connection as automatically there.

What kind of problems are you having? Once the router is connected to your modem and the router is configured and working properly you should be able to connect it to your PS3.

Connecting to my DIR625

One thing you might want to check is your firewall settings. Not the windows firewall but 3rd party firewall like Norton Internet Security. It will block your connection if it detects a different network. Also check the LED lights on the router, if you plug in an ethernet cable, does the light lite up on the corresondping Lan.
