I have a brand new brother HL5370DW laser printer. When it prints full pages of texts, there are many "blank" spots in the print. I put in a new cartridge just to see if it was that, but it's still doing it. how can i fix this?

There is a waste toner drum that might be full. Strange as it is, when that is full it really screws up the printing in many different ways. Before you get into that make sure to check that you have not turned the settings on the menu to print in economy.

In the printer's dialogue find the print pages number. Print page from/to and select 20 pages chunks. In effect print only part of the document at a time. Add all chunks together in one pile. Work around I know, but it works.

Step 1:

Print out about 10 blank (all white) sheets and see if the spots clean off.

Step 2:

Check to see if the toner is Dell type brand, if not try installing Dell brand and run 10 blank copies then run color test print using menu key.
Press menu, press arrow down key till 'print reports' is displayed, Press 'check key' then press down key till 'color test print' Press check key to print color copy.

Have you tried printing text in different colour if that works the black jets are blocked- try running the cleaning cycle to clear (it may not use black ink in graphics)

try cleaning the heads and if that does not work put in a new cartridge

I'm here with maybve the same question-maybe: Cat5e ethernet network, on a apparant random basis, the HL5370dw ignores the network. Our fix is to hold down the blue print button for about ten seconds until the status lights all turn yellow, and the printer then prints the network configuration page. This starts the printing of the held pages.

I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.
