Go to your computer, click START/Control Panel/Network Connections.

Right click on whichever Local Area Connection you use and click PROPERTIES. After that highlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP that is in the general tab. Once highlighted click the Properties button below. If your IP addresses are put in Manually look on the bottom and see what your DNS #'s are. If you have the on there, put those in on the Network Settings for your Xbox 360 through the dashboard.

I hope this helps and that it didn't sound too confusing

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Dns is failing when trying to sign up to xbox live

When the dns fails, it is a problem on yous isp's end, make sure your modem is working properly, and that you resit it once. If the problem, reoccurs, then call the isp and have them replace the modem.

Xbox live connection?

When the Xbox live fails, it just means XBOX Live is currently down in your area. Give it a day then try again. If the problem continues, call microsoft.

When your DNS fails, its not your fault, you are doing everything fight. The DNS is a result from your ISP. (Internet service provider). It could be because your modem is faulty or their service is just down at the moment. If you have a motorola modem, make sure that the 4 top lights are solid green. This problem just happened to me and i called brighthouse. They came to my house the next day, replaced the modem, and it was all free. They also credited my account for the 2 days it didnt work.

Try calling XBOX customer support. They will know exactly how to fix your problem. Their number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX. (1-800-469-9269). This is the best way to fix this problem because the technicians are certified and they know what to do.

Hope this helps,

CAN"T SIGN IN TO XBOX LIVE

You might not have been banned. Not being able to connect to the DNS or having it fail can be caused by a few things:
The DNS address serves couldn't be reached
The info on the DNS server couldn't be snagged from your ISP or the DHCP server
The DNS values in the dashboard are wrong.

I don't want to come off like I am insulting your intelligence, but check your internet connection to make sure you have the ability to connect. I'm sure it is all in proper order. So the next thing you need to do is check to see if you IP is set and passes all the tests. If it isn't then you can click the more link on the test page to follow the directions on how to fix it.

You may also want to check out if you are using a XBOX live compatible ISP. Click on Learn More to see if you are using the right ISP or to adjust your settings. You can also check out the connectivity wizard to find out if there are some other issues revolving around this.

Still running into problems!?!?!? try running the modem directly into your XBOX. This has helped me in a few time of need.

If you go to your computer hold down the windows key and hit the and hit the R key at the same time.

This will bring up a black window, type in ipconfig/all,this will give you lots of details about your network setup, what we are looking for is the DNS ip's, they should be there under DNS Servers, use the addresses for your DNS servers.
