Go to your computer, click START/Control Panel/Network Connections.

Right click on whichever Local Area Connection you use and click PROPERTIES. After that highlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP that is in the general tab. Once highlighted click the Properties button below. If your IP addresses are put in Manually look on the bottom and see what your DNS #'s are. If you have the on there, put those in on the Network Settings for your Xbox 360 through the dashboard.

I hope this helps and that it didn't sound too confusing

How do I open my NAT settings for xbox live on a D-Link DSL-G604T. I also want to forward the specific ports for Xbox Live which are TCP [80] and UDP [88, 3074] but I am not sure how.

What you need to do first is set a static IP address on your Xbox. Also put the router IP address as the gateway and DNS server.
Don't know how you do that as I have never used one but it must have some network settings somewhere for you do that on the xbox.

Then go back to the network settings where your were on the router and set the following:

Rule Name: Xbox UDP 88
Private IP: put the ip address of your xbox here
Protocol: UDP
Port Start: 88
Port End: 88
Port Map: 88

Rule Name: Xbox TCP/UDP 3074
Private IP: put the ip of your xbox here
Protocol: Both
Port Start: 3074
Port End: 3074
Port Map 3074

Good Luck, feel free to get more clarification, do rate the solution if got help

Opening nat

You just need to enable port forwarding for the ports that the xbox live is using, specifically these ports:

UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074

You then assign a the static IP you have set on your router, subnet, gateway and dns on your xbox and that should allow your xbox live to work properly with your router.

Xbox live connection?

When the Xbox live fails, it just means XBOX Live is currently down in your area. Give it a day then try again. If the problem continues, call microsoft.

Xbox live connection

When your DNS fails, its not your fault, you are doing everything fight. The DNS is a result from your ISP. (Internet service provider). It could be because your modem is faulty or their service is just down at the moment. If you have a motorola modem, make sure that the 4 top lights are solid green. This problem just happened to me and i called brighthouse. They came to my house the next day, replaced the modem, and it was all free. They also credited my account for the 2 days it didnt work.

Try calling XBOX customer support. They will know exactly how to fix your problem. Their number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX. (1-800-469-9269). This is the best way to fix this problem because the technicians are certified and they know what to do.

Hope this helps,

I am trying to connect to xbox live through my WR850G router

It sounds to me like you need to open ports 88 through 3074 instead of just opening the two. So this way you open Port 88 to 3074. I can further assist you if you have the router info.
