Question about HP LaserJet 2300d Printer

1 Answer

Light print over entire page

My 2300D was printing very light on the page with a ghosted image further down. I checked HP's web site which told me it was the fuser film. I have replaced the fuser which has fixed the ghosting, but the print is still very light. Prior to replacing the fuser I replaced the Toner. I have another toner on order for it, but am now wondering if it could be anything else causing the problem.

RICOH FW740 is printing with a ghost image. Can I clean it myself?

Ghost images appear on the printed page because of bad cleaning blade or improper charging of the drum unit. Ghost images appear on the next printed page if cleaning blade does not clean the drum surface. Drum/ photoconductor is very sensitive to light, so special care should taken while pulling it out. Ghost images of the same printing repeated down the page

Run a half test. While printing a few pages, open the cover, pull out the toner and look down at the paper. If you see the ghost images replace the toner. If you don't see the ghost images, replace the fuser.

Smudges and 'ghost image" down the page from true image, little used printer, not even a whole cartridge used

Laser Printers that printouts can be smudged usually means the Transfuser (the part that settles the toner onto paper) is not fully functioning or damaged. Simply replace it and it should be back to normal. However, these Transfusers are quite expensive. So you may be better off to get a quote for a new one if out of warranty.

Xerox Phaser 6360N ghosting images on each page

Is it a ghost of the image or just a repeating defect? In the menu, there is a repeating defect information page that you can print out. Depending on the spacing of the defect, you can determine which component it is.

Ghost images

Is it from the most recently printed page, or is it the same image avery time regardless of what you print? It sounds like your drum or roller (I'm not sure about the exqact term in english) might be the issue. Have you somehow managed to "force" a printing without paper in the printer?
