1. Are you able to turn it on ?
If so, press the the "power on" button the second time to activate the menu.
Still no luck ! Try putting in a new battery and try again.
2. You cannot "reset" anything.
3. Open up "windows explorer"
4. Scroll down the left pane of the window till you see the "sansa" removable disk
5. Right click it and select "format"
6. After formatting, try adding your files back again.
7. Use the >= button on the player tp play the songs.

Hope this has been helpful to you.

Frozen sansa e-250

Hold down the power button for fifteen seconds. Sometimes all the unit needs is a good soft reset.

If, for whatever reason, the unit is still unresponsive, you will need to force-format and downgrade the player. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How Long to Charge??

sandisk recommends 3+ hours for the initial charge and then about 1.5 - 2 hours for after the battery is drained. More information is needed to diagnose this problem. but here is some info. After 45 minutes on the phone with sandisk to get them to send a new battery, they ran me through these troubleshooting steps, hope they help. do one at a time and see if you get a result -Reset device take out battery hold power button for 30 count put battery back in turn device on. -Upgrade firmware Go to website, download firmware update This was the URL at the time of writing this http://sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376 or try http://sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx Install according to instructions. let the device reboot. -Format memory. turn hold switch on, orange should be visible hold pause/play button and press power. click forward button when the screen comes up. let this run. after reboot flip the hold switch off. then they put me on hold for 10 minutes...

Sansa SanDisk c150 won't turn on!

My Sansa also failed to turn on. But what happened to me was that I unplugged the USB while it's connecting. After that I cannot sync with my computer anymore, so I tried turning it off and on couple times and at the end the whole thing won't turn on anymore. I talked to the SanDisk tech. You can try what he told me: take out the battery; press and hold the power button for 45 sec (this will drain the power in the capacitor...they call it "soft reset"); then put the battery back in and try to turn on the mp3 player. That didn't work for me. I just bought this a month ago so i guess because of the warranty, they will send me a brand new one. I hope this help.

Get out the battery and let the device "calm down" without any source of power for 5-10 minutes. After that push the menu/start button, hold down for 30 or more seconds and holding down, insert the battery. It has to reset the power circuitry and should help.

I'm having the same problem - to turn it off so your battery doesn't run out, put it on hold.

Same problem is mentioned in another location at this site. It happened to me too and nothing works. The standard recommendation is to take out battery and hold down power button for a minute or more, but that did not work for me. Everyone says they took it back which is what I'm going to do.

Help needed

Here is a fix I got from Sandisk support: Let's try this: take the battery out of the player and wait for a full 5 minutes. While the battery is out, please hold the power-on button for 10 seconds. After that, connect it to your computer (without the battery). Does it work when it's connected to the computer? Regardless of that result, disconnect it from the computer, then put a brand new alkaline battery back in, and see if it will turn on. Now, another thing I found that worked once, was to remove the battery, hold the power button for 5 seconds, then replace battery. The unit powered up after that.
