Does it say anything else? Sometimes this type of recurring message can be due to the system time not being set. Entering setup and configuring the time may work.
If you can get into Setup you should be able to change boot options to boot from fixed (hard) disc. Unless the hard drive has been damaged or formatted this should work.
Hi, you haven't said what operating system you have, but here are two options. Restore windows with your windows CD. Or you can boot into safe mode by pressing the Del or ESC key during initial boot, select start in safe mode, from where you can reset your operating system to an earlier time before the problem. Both of these will not loose any saved files.

Assuming that fixed it, it was trying to boot from a USB drive for some unknown reason. I think it was due to the latest windows XP update. Wierd. Hit F12 next time you reboot and make sure it is booting from hard disk first.
