I am looking to buy a used Frigidaire GLWS1233AS2 Top Load Washer and GLER331AS2 . They are supposed to be 3 years old. Are they good machines or do they have lots of problems?

Mine is 10 yrs old and I am just now having a problem. Clothes are too damp after last spin cycle. Hopefully, I'll get an answer here soon. Another problem I noticed a few months after I got it, with this model, is the fabric softener dispenser on top of the agitator. You have to remove it every single time and clean it. I added a little water to it before adding fabric softener and thought that would help to stretch the cleaning to maybe once or twice a week. Don't do it! I started to smell mildew and found out why. The agitator shaft that this dispenser sits on was caked with old fabric softener. I just use the blue Downey ball now. The fabric dispenser stinks but I have had 10 yrs of good washing.

The washer does not wash the clothes or spin them dry, come out smelling like they were not washed, water leaks from underneath, tries to start on its own and at times will not start at all when you w

Try to clean your coin filter trap underneath and then sanitize the unit before your next wash with bleach water and clean it.

1. Unplug the washer

2. Pull the washer out to tilt it back so you can

reach the screws below the front panel and

remove it. (You will need something to catch

the water once the hose is removed from

the bottom of washer)

3. Loosen the bolt with the sliver clamp on the

bottom of the washer. The water will begin to

come out while your loosening the clamp. (Do

not remove any GREEN clamps)

4. Once the water is out, you can stick your hand

inside the hose to clean it out.

My washer keep shorting out why is this

It may be the motor, transmission, or both. If these are shot on your washing machine, the result may be an electrical burning smell. Both are necessary to run your washing machine and can be costly to repair. The first thing to do if you notice an "electrical" smell in your washing machine and not a "rubber" burning smell, is to unplug the machine and call the manufacturer or a repairperson.

An electrical burning smell may also be caused by a water leak coming into contact with electrical wiring. Both are major concerns and should be addressed immediately. A water leak can cause structural damage in your home and can short out the electrical wiring in your washer and cause additional damage to the machine.

Another more likely cause of a burning smell in your washer is overloading. Adding too many clothes to your washing machine can stress the motor or transmission, causing them to overheat or malfunction and emit a burning smell.
If the washing machine is old (15 - 20 years) you could have nuisance tripping on aGFCI outlet, however that doesn't mean you get rid of the protection of the outlet, it means you probably should consider replacing the washing machine for a newer model.

My washer wont spin and it smells like it is burning it is only 3 yrs old

The burning you smell is probably the belt slipping. There is a belt which is attached to pulleys. The belt engages to spin the basin in the washer. When this belt slips the burning smell happens because the pulleys are spinning and the belt isn't. You will probably need to adjust the tension on the pulleys or get a new belt. This can happen from constantly overloading the washer or trying to get the washer to wash and extra large load while the water level is set at a smaller load.

Why does our duet whirlpol washer smell like mold. Our washer are

Your washer smells moldy because there is mold growing in it somewhere. To kill the mold and clean the inside of your washer do a hot water wash using no clothes but adding two cups of bleach to the machine. It will also smell better then.

Kenwood elite washer is spurting water 3 to 4 times during the agitate cycle. i do not know how to take it apart. it does not leak water at any other time.

The smell in my Kenwood Elite washer is horrible. I use bleach, I use the new TIde Washing Machine Cleaner, I have tried the hot cycles, I have left it open between washings but can't leave it open very much because we have a door out to garage that would hit the washer door if left open too wide. I can't leave clothes in there too long or they smell too much and have to rewash. The clothes never come out of washer smelling super clean. After I dry them using a scented dryer sheet, they are acceptable, but I never have really clean smelling scented clothes any more.

BELT LOOSE ON FRIGIDAIRE WASHER HOW TO TIGHTEN

you can't really tighten a belt, I suggest that you change it, although it is extremely hard to replace a a new belt yourself. Have you checked the carbon brushes in the motor do not need changing, this could also generate a burning smell and leave you clothes wet if they are worn.
