Question about iiyama Prolite E430 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

No menu Hi, i have a problem with the iiyama I bought 5 years ago. It always worked fine, until recently: the menu "CONTRASTE" comes on the screen, goes by itself to zero, and won't go away, making it difficult to see what I'm working on. All the menu buttons are not reacting, just the Power button seems ok. I tried to unplung it, then switch it on while pressing the + and - buttons, but nothing happens... The screen turns on, and 2-3 seconds after, the menu "contraste" appears. It goes away by itself for a few seconds, and then comes back. What can I do to get rid of it?

Thank you for your quick response!

As it was Saturday, I decided to try to fix
it myself. Taking out the front of the screen was quite easy. There is a hidden
fifth bolt under the leg, it took me some time to figure it out.

As you said, the “– “ button seemed stuck,
but not with the front cover. The defect was inside the button. I tried to
press it many times, and it just worked: the annoying “CONTRASTE” on the screen
disappeared. The menu button still does not work, but it’s not a problem.

    The screen is now ok.

Thank you again for your accurate advice!

One of the buttons on the front of your monitor is probably stuck.
(Only one of the buttons work at a time on most monitors)

I cannot recommend taking it apart your self (have a tech do it)
But take off the front, check the buttons after you take off the front, and if it still occurs unplug the buttons from the monitor.
If it stops (which it should) replace or fix the controls)
If it doesn't, call an exorcist (just joking) or buy a new monitor.

In most cases there are one or two capacitors in the power supply that open, and in some situations they have a bulge at the top making it easier to spot.

Have owned a iiyama 17" pro crt for a few years,

These were a fine monitor and with the kind of image quality you cannot get on TFT's.
If you know the graphics card you are using is working ok, have checked the VGA cable connection and socket at the monitor and computer and have tested the monitor on another computer, that would rule out any problems as far as connected devices are concerned.

The problem you describe, and it is unusual that it has happened so quickly, points to a failure of the monitor internal board. You may be able to get this repaired at a reasonable cost by seeking the opinion of a TV repairman, who might be able to fix it.

Iiyama prolite e1902wsv white screen , no picture

From time to time, I've the same white screen problem with my IIYAMA E1902WSV.

I can resolve that issue with a reset to factory settings.
1- Turn ON power (blue led)
2- Push on the MENU button and keep the button pushed while
pulling out the power cord.
3- Plug the power cord back while keeping the MENU button
pushed.

You should see the picture again.

Iiyama HM903DT - Stopped switching on - constant orange standby

The way I solved it…

I received from iiyama a quote for repair: 400€ without VAT, 478 € with VAT, with a 3 month warranty.

So I ordered a HP LP2475W H-IPS LCD monotor from HP, for 656 € VAT & delivery incl. And a 3 year ON SITE warranty. It is superb, and after calibration it largely outperforms what I had before for my photographic use.

Hope this will help…

Iiyama Pro 452 clicking sound during start-up

Your CRT Monitor will fail soon. The clicking sound is coming from your CRT's power circuit.

Make plans now to replace it. This problem is known to be a fire hazard in some cases. So, better safe than sorry.

Sorry for the bad news.

Hope this was helpful.

PC monitor wont come on.

Check that the power cord is fully plugged in first.

It is probably the inverter board inside the monitor.
(if the screen does properly display ever then it is not the screen)
It CAN be fixed but I do not suggest anyone open up a monitor (LCD or CRT) who is not "technically inclined."

If you really want to fix this particular one then take it to a local tech and get an estimate first. If it's almost as much as a new monitor then buy a new one.

CM2015 15" LCD Monitor

Sometimes over long periods of tiem these buttons on the LCD monitor become lodged and they begin to stick. From frequent use the board that controls these small charges that allow the board on the mother board to know what button is pushed shortout or go bad, the pads beneath them go bad as well. You may want to purchase a new monitor! I repair these all of the time, sometime you just have to say goodbye! Sorry!

Screen stays blank

Hi: For me it seams that the problem is on the graphic board that doesn't have enought energy to send information to the monitor. I sugest that you try another graphic board or another monitor on the same graphic board. ;) Regards
