Question about Computers & Internet
I have an Aspire 5000 laptop. It was working fine last night - logged in today, get an Acer screen for one second then screen goes to black. Get a message "....missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM". Can attempt repair with Setup CD-Rom? Can I purchase these someplace? I have 1 & 3; not 2. Is there something that I can do without the cd's? I'm not tech minded at all so apologize if this question is too elementary!
The error: Window could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt;
You can attempt to repair this file by loading the Win CD into your cdrom drive. Start the PC & press the F5 key every 2 seconds & windows boot menue will load.
Choose the cdrom drive that has the Windows CD in.
Select "r" at the first screen to start repair.
Once back in windows run a full system virus scan.
Good luck & have a great day!
