Question about Miele W1903A Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Miele W1903 washer skipping steps (not fully draining?)

I have a Miele W1903 front-loader that makes it to "End" but skips the standard wash and spin cycles. Pre-wash will get me a wash cycle and I manually select "spin". It drains but I don't think it's draining all the way because if I leave it unused for a week it starts to smell really bad. I've checked the pump cleanout and that's fine.

The motor of the siphon pump you mean?

  • Markomatic Mar 15, 2008

The pump spins like a champ. All of the functions seem to function even if it's not in order through a complete cycle... and maybe it's not completely draining (hence the smelly water).
I think what I really need here is a Miele factory repair/troubleshooting manual.
My gut is telling me that there might be a solenoid/valve that's not functioning... therefore not tripping the next function to proceed and possibly not redirecting the flow of water at some point. Just an amateur guess though.
There seems to be another component inside (this is where my guss comes from) that recirculates water during the wash cycle but drains it at the end. But the thing is... IT DOES DRAIN. But if it smells... something's not draining all the way. If a run a test load or two through... the smell is more or less gone. Has anyone worked on a Miele or Bosch out there? And what happened to the $20 I paid for nuthin'... where did that guy go? He's not responding to my emails and I'm pretty sure he didn't know anything that could help someone with a Miele.

My Miele W1903 is doing the same thing. I only get a wash if I add prewash and it's skipping the drain and spin cycle. I can manually set it to spin and it drains and spins, so everything seems to work O.K.--just won't do it on it's own in order.

Miele W1926. The red light over the faucet icon is on at the end of the cycle and the final spin cycle doesn't go on.

Check the screen filter where the cold water line attaches to the machine. Clean both hot and cold.

My washing machine door is not opening at the end of a cycle. I put it onto another and it still won't at the end of that one. I've turned it off as well for 10 mins or so, and still nothing. Please help!

you didn't state whether it's a top or front loader. either way, there's a switch activated when the door is closed and washer is in cycle mode- so you can't open the door when a. the front loader has water in it, or b. the top loader is in agitate, or spin cycle. if top loader- there's a tab on the end opposite the hinge side that activates a switch that latches the cover closed when in 'dangerous' cycles (don't want to get your hand caught in the spin cycle!!). either a loose wire or a failed switch! prob. need to gently pop the top (should hinge back) to access the switch. UNPLUG THE WASHER!! if a a loose wire, re-attach-if not, replace switch! easy! good luck!

Soap suds on the door at the end of a wash cycle. Miele E526

With all modern front loading washers, you might find that the amount of detergent you need is much less than what is recommended by the detergent makers!

First, be sure you're using the He (High Efficiency) detergent and try using only 2 or 3 tablespoons of detergent. If you've heavily stained clothes, be sure to pre-treat them rather than adding more detergent. That should also help with the extra soap left in the clothes after a complete wash cycle.

Give this a try and adjust the detergent as needed to get the best results for your situation.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regard!

During spin cycle washer spins fine but toward the end of the cycle it spins out of control like it is out of balance? Any help is greatly welcomed.

Some front loaders have a super high speed at the end of the spin. Front loaders don't like small loads, the laundry does not spread out evenly enough for a balanced spin.

Miele w 427 not pushing out the water after the wash cycle

the drain pump may be blocked by a piece of debris - clean the filter out on the lower front of the machine and check for a obstacle blocking the pump.

When I use the spin only cycle on my Bosch WAE20260AU front loader it runs the pump for most of the cycle time. It only spins briefly mid cycle and the clothes are still very wet at the end. I do a lot of...

I have the same problem on a Miele W418 washing machine.

Just will not spin at all although the Pump out motor and the rest of the washing cycle all appear to be working.
