Question about Miele W1903A Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Miele W1903 washer skipping steps (not fully draining?)

I have a Miele W1903 front-loader that makes it to "End" but skips the standard wash and spin cycles. Pre-wash will get me a wash cycle and I manually select "spin". It drains but I don't think it's draining all the way because if I leave it unused for a week it starts to smell really bad. I've checked the pump cleanout and that's fine.

The motor of the siphon pump you mean?

    Thanks,

The pump spins like a champ. All of the functions seem to function even if it's not in order through a complete cycle... and maybe it's not completely draining (hence the smelly water).
I think what I really need here is a Miele factory repair/troubleshooting manual.
My gut is telling me that there might be a solenoid/valve that's not functioning... therefore not tripping the next function to proceed and possibly not redirecting the flow of water at some point. Just an amateur guess though.
There seems to be another component inside (this is where my guss comes from) that recirculates water during the wash cycle but drains it at the end. But the thing is... IT DOES DRAIN. But if it smells... something's not draining all the way. If a run a test load or two through... the smell is more or less gone. Has anyone worked on a Miele or Bosch out there? And what happened to the $20 I paid for nuthin'... where did that guy go? He's not responding to my emails and I'm pretty sure he didn't know anything that could help someone with a Miele.

My Miele W1903 is doing the same thing. I only get a wash if I add prewash and it's skipping the drain and spin cycle. I can manually set it to spin and it drains and spins, so everything seems to work O.K.--just won't do it on it's own in order.
