How do i change setting if i want image in 300 dpi ? camera canon sx130 .

You may not be able to change the image to 300 dpi, but you can change the image quality to S (small). Go to the camera's Menu and then to Image quality and select the lowest image quality setting.

Setting dpi on my nikon d3100

DPI (dots per inch) is an output specification and is irrelevant to the camera. The camera puts a value into the field simply because it has to put something there. The DPI is set by the printing program when it prints a picture. A picture printed at 4x6 will obviously have more dots per inch than the same picture printed at 8x10.

Image Size
The image size and quality setting determines the number of photos that can be saved and the amount of
memory required for each photo. The higher the photo quality the more memory it will use up. The image size
and quality will also affect the maximum size you can print your photo effectively. To set the Image size:
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Press Right/Left button to select the Image Size mode.

3. Press the Up/Down button to select the desired image size.
4. Press the Menu button to confirm, save and exit to standby mode.
If this still doesn't work, press the menu button twice.

Photo resolution

Sony H1 takes photos at 72 dpi by default. But the picture quality will be good. if you want to convert it to 300dpi open the picture in adobe Photoshop and select image size and change resolution to 300 dpi. but the file size will be very high to up load. if you want to reduce the file size select the image size in adobe photoshop and reduce it according to your requirement. if my solution proves good please rate it. Regards.

Changing the resolution on my camera before i go to photoshop

using the RAW setting will give a higher quality photo, the other formats compress to jpeg causing you to loose some of the original photo information. the ZoomBrowser EX program allows you to edit the RAW image, I recommend getting the large prints done at Kinkos or some place like that. I've gotten poster size prints done that look very clear. Use a tripod to combat camera shake, it is very apperent at that size of print. Also a low ISO to help reduce noise.

Features of each record mode

The details for each record mode are as follows: RAW: RAW data is unprocessed image data in its original state to which white balance, sharpness, contrast, color conversion and other processes have not been applied. CAMEDIA Master can be used to display RAW data and save it in other image formats. A RAW plug-in is also available for Adobe Photoshop which also provides the ability to process images in 32-bit color depth. TIFF: This is the highest-quality mode. images are saved as uncompressed data, which is the best for printing or image processing on a computer. SHQ: This is a high quality mode using the JPEG format. Because the compression rate is very low, high quality images can be stored. HQ: This is a high quality mode using JPEG format, with medium compression. Because the compression rate is higher than SHQ, file sizes are smaller. More images can be saved to a card. The file size can be changed in the 3:2 or Enlarge size mode as well as SHQ. 3:2 Mode: Ordinarily the image aspect ratio is set to 4:3. Due to change the ratio to 3:2, the picture size becomes 2592 x 1728 so that the image can be printed without losing the image borders at a photo lab. 3:2 can be set in the TIFF, SHQ, or HQ mode. SQ1/SQ2: SQ1 is used for resolutions above 1600 x1200 and SQ2 is used for resolutions below 1600 x1200. For both, you can choose high compression to reduce noise or normal compression to save more images.

RAW quality mode option

In the RAW mode, the image is compiled of raw data with no compression and no enhancing settings from the camera such as sharpness, contrast etc. It provides a higher dynamic range with the maximum image quality without being processed, so the user can apply his/her own changes to the file. The file will have a .ORF (Olympus Raw File) extension. It can be read using a supplied PhotoShop Plug-in or the Olympus Camedia 2.5 program.
