Adcom GFA-7400 power amp; 1 dead channel (thermal protect LED on)

I have an Adcom GFA-7400 multichannel power amplifier, but one channel is not working... How do I fix one channel dead (with thermal protection LED on)?... All 4 other channels work fine, but the Right (middle) channel is completely dead. (No sound output at all; just the thermal protect light, which stays on)... What can be done to fix it?... I have tried to find the service manual for this amp somewhere online, but to no avail... Please help!... Thanks!

One channel thermal overload stays lit and no output from that channel. even after unit sits overnight, thermal light on immediately, unit not hot. Looking for schematic?

Red light is on if:
- thermal protection, overheated amp, bad thermo sensor
- DC at speaker terminals
- high current at output transistors
Also could be a protection circuit malfunction.
In any case you need new channel module or send your module or whole amp for repair here.
Thanks,
Paul

Adcom 5300 thermal protection light is on right side all fuses are good

Is it actually getting hot? If so, make sure it's getting the required ventilation and that you're not over-driving it. Page 5...

Adcom GFA 5500 'mechanical' hum from amplifier

Possibly. Most amps filter out line hum via low-pass filters. If you can locate a schematic, those would be the caps to check.

How do i bridge an adcom gfa 5400

This amp is not designed to be bridged and can not be used in the mode you wish. Sorry, but internal circuit changes would be necesary for the amp to work as a single channel.

Adcom 7500, Adcom 5400(bi-amp), Marantz AV-9000, Dakiom HA103

Try just the power amp on ..nothing connected
no Dakiom thingy either. It's a matter of elimination. Start at the output device and work back. Keep the Dakiom out of the loop.
If there's hum with just the Adcom..then it's the ADCOM

Can you bridge an adcom GFA-5802 power amp?

Running an amp in bridge mode requires a specific circuit design. It is not possible to combine 2 amps in this fashion.

ADCOM GFA 5802 POWER AMP NO SOUND, BUT POWERS UP.

Remove the output transistors and measure each of the sets of 3 pads and report the voltage readings here. I suspect that you have either a blown driver circuit or output transistors. The voltage readings will give me an idea on where to start looking for specifics.

Thanks,
Dan
