Question about Vivitar ViviCam 5150s Digital Camera

1 Answer

Language Set up

We have had this camera for at least 2 years with no problems. All of a sudden the screen instructions are now in what appears to be Chinese. I can only assume that someone has been playing around with it in my absence. However I am at a loss to figure out how to get this back to the English version. The instruction leaflet is very brief and does not give this information.

Any Assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Debbie,
See if this works with your camera. Go to Page 5 in the menu (5/5) Scroll down to the 4rth setting and select it. Choose one of the other options, one of them should bring up English. Try the same sets again selecting a different choice each time until you get English.
Good luck.

How To Change My Sony Camera Model No.Nex-3N Menu

These instructions will just change an English language NEX-3N that has the instructions set to Japanese. They may not work on a Japanese model of the NEX-3N.

Find the Menu screen by pressing the MENU button on the camera.
Select the SETUP icon (This looks like a case) in the bottom right of the screen.
The Language setting is a long way down the SETUP MENU but it is the only setting that has an icon.
The icon looks like a book with a capital A on it. [A]
These instructions are on or about page 56 of the NEX-3N instruction manual.

My sony camera is from japan the language of that is japanese so that my problem is, I never know how to change in english language.

Hi, http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW200.pdf Is the instructional manual for that camera. You need to get into the menu then from there go to the bottom which would be settings, then go to the bottom of that screen which will be languages and then you should be able to set it to english.

Rebel XS was working fine... yesterday, all of a sudden, the LCD screen went blank and it displays 'busy' when trying to take a picture. Recharging the battery and replacing the sd card didn't change...

I can help you fix the BUSY Error or Error 99 of your Canon EOS Rebel XS.

Installation of this Canon EOS Rebel XS firmware version 1.06 update will solve these problems:
  1. Some cameras may exhibit a phenomenon in which the LCD monitor does not display, the shutter does not release, and the BUSY indication remains lit in the viewfinder.
  2. The message, "Err 99 Shooting is not possible. Turn the power switch to<OFF> and <ON> again or re-install the battery", appears on the camera's LCD monitor, and after the above operation is carried out,the LCD monitor displays in a language that is different from the actual language setting.
See the firmware instructions and download the firmware upgrade by following these Fixya Tips :

  1. Follow this link to download a pdf version of the firmware installation instruction guide.
  2. Follow this link to download the Windows Version of the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update.
  3. Follow this link to download the MAC version of the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D firmware version 1.06 update.
  4. Follow this link to download the Canon EOS Rebel XS / Canon EOS 1000D Instruction Manual.

I hope that helps.

Wrong Language

2 possible solutions for you. Take the batteries out. Press the power button (with batteries out). Nothing will happen. It's OK. Leave batteries out for 4-6 hours. Re-install batteries. Camera should default to initial set-up screen, where it will ask you for the language of choice.
Solution 2 is turn camera on. Press menu and navigate to set-up (configuracion). Navigate to language (lang.) and select english. That should take care of it. Hope it helps.
