Try holding down the power button for 10 seconds to reset it. if this does not work you need to go onto Sansa's website and download the updater and upgrade the firmware. Let me know if this works or not, if not I will look into it a little further.

Says it is docked and when I unplug it nothing changes - it seems stuck

Push a pin into the tiny reset hole on the bottom of the player.

Stuck on please wait...

If possible, I would try plugging the player into another computer, and try re-synchronizing one time. If successful, I would go into your computer's device manager and look for problems with the USB ports. After that is done, go back to your own computer and see if you get the same message.

Stuck at the Go-Gear screen

Sounds like the firmware has corrupted.

Install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.
Select the restore / repair option and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will re-install the firmware and format the player.

How do you get in USB mode?

If you cannot change the "modes", you will have to put it into recovery mode to fix it. You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Download and run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://sandisk.com/assets/file/downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe Best of Luck.
