Try holding down the power button for 10 seconds to reset it. if this does not work you need to go onto Sansa's website and download the updater and upgrade the firmware. Let me know if this works or not, if not I will look into it a little further.

My Honestetch 5.0 vhs to dvd wont record. As soon as i press the record button a bubble popped up saying You can start recording by playing your camcorder or VCR

You need to connect the Video and Audio outputs from your camcorder or VHS player/recorder to the Honestech converter - Yellow is video, red and white audio. You play the tape back on the camcorder or VHS player/recorder and the video on the tape will play into the Honestech converter and will be digitised and sent via the USB connection to the PC and recorded on the PC. The Honestech cannot control your camcorder or VCR directly so you need to manually set it to play the tape.

How do you get in USB mode?

If you cannot change the "modes", you will have to put it into recovery mode to fix it. You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Download and run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://sandisk.com/assets/file/downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe Best of Luck.
