Question about Acer TravelMate 2501LMi Notebook
I have the above mentioned laptop that I am repairing but when I go to install XP on it it says there is a problem with ACPI and cannot install. It suggest trying to update the bios so I went to the acer website and got the latest bios ( travelmate 2500) which would upgrade the bios from v1.07 to v1.16. It will not install the bios as it says it is for a different model.
So now I'm stuck!! Do you know of another bios I can try or a way round this problem at all?
Any help would be most useful cheers
If you have access to the original disks that came with the machine I would suggest trying to use those.
Is the harddrive SATA?
Try installing XP on the hard drive through another Laptop or a USB converter. Then place the drive back in the computer to start windows.
