Most heat pump systems utilize electric strip heaters as back-up and emergency heat. This will allow the system to continue to produce heat in the event of heat pump failure. If you are having problems getting your heat pump to turn on, you might have a blown line voltage fuse, a tripped circuit breaker, or a high pressure switch tripped. The high pressure switch on a Rheem or Ruud unit is a red button located near the service valves at the outdoor unit. Try pushing the button to reset. Check your indoor air filter and replace as necessary.

Turn table won't turn on ewave microwave oven

Almost certain if microwave still heats a bad motor or gear issue inside the unit--if unit will not heat the safety switch in the side that the door engages is the cause of the wheel or platter not turning--prevents unit from use if door open.

I JUST BOUGHT THIS UNIT IT HAS THE OUTSIDE UNIT AND THE INSIDE UNIT AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE HEAT PACKS IN THE INSIDE HANDLER IS FOR EMERGENCY HEAT ONLY...IS THIS TRUE?

Yes, if you are talking about a heat pump. It you have an electric furnace inside, the electric elements are for emergency heat. Otherwise, unless you switch it manually at the thermostat, the heatpump (outdoor unit) will run all year around. If you want to use your inside heater (electric heater) just switch your thermostat to "emergency heat" and it will turn on the electrical elements instead of the outdoor unit. This way will make your elec. bill higher tho. The heat pump is much more efficient. Hope this helps you , have good day

Uotside unit blowing cool air but hot on the inside

It sounds like you have a unit called a heat pump. When a heat pump unit is in cooling mode the outside unit blows hot air and the inside unit blows cold air. If the outside unit is blowing cold then the indoor unit is most likely blowing room temperature or warm air. It sounds like the thermostat could be controlling incorrectly or you could have a failed reversing valve which is the device that switches the unit from heating to cooling mode.

RUUD heat pump system does not cool properly.

With a heat pump system there are always going to be a back up heat strip inside the Air Handler.

If you detect a faint humming in the Condenser call your local service company and ask them to come and replace your capacitor in the condenser. The humming is from the contactor engaging but not being able to start the compressor due to not having the required Microfarads to start it.

Let me know if this helps

Central a/c and heat not blowing not working

Could be a circuit breaker tripped. Check the electrical panel for a tripped breaker. If they check out, then call a service tech to look at the outdoor unit. Good luck

Non-working outside unit

If your unit is blowing heat inside and it's not a heat pump. It will be most likely electric heat in your case.
Sounds like you have a split unit meaning the condenser is outside and the cooling and the heat features are inside or under your home.If your Rudd is a heat-pump the outside unit will cycle/blow cold air outside in winter and hot air will cycle/blow outside during the summer season. Now, if for some reason the heat  is not coming on inside the house, would be the only reason that you would need to be concerned. Being a heat relay or breaker of could cause that problem. Hope this helps you, Sea Breeze
