Question about IBM Wheelwriter 30 Typewriter

Ibm wheelwriter I loose what I store in the memory each night when the typewriter is shut off. It never used to do this before.

If you have a wheelwriter there are batteries under the top cover lift it up like you were going to change a ribbon and you will find it either near the left or rt. side it will have either 2 or 3 AA batteries replace them. If they are corroded be sure to clean up the contacts with a little sand paper.

There is a battery on the main board. the case cones apart with a screwdriver.

How do i use the memory function on my ibm wheelwriter 6?


Before we start turn it on after it completes is power on just the #1 light should be lit this says the batteries are OK. If they flash replace the batteries and clean the holder.
To store hold the store key while entering an address 1 - 99, type info then press store again.
To play press play with the address.

How do we use the memory? we need a manual


There are 3 keys on the L. side of the keyboard Store, Play And Del. To save info hold the stor, type the address 01-99, release store, type info, press store again. To print hold play, type address, release play. Delete works the same way.
BE SURE THE BATTERIES ARE GOOD OR YOU WILL LOOSE SAVED MEMORY ON POWER DOWN!!

If this ia a wheelwriter 6 on the l. side of the keyboard are 3 keys store, play & delete. To store hold store and press an address 01-99, rel the store key, type info., then press store again. To print hold play and type address 01-99 info. will print.

How to set memory


On the L. side of the keyboard there are 3 keys store, play and delete.

To store hold code and press store type in 01-99 for an address, rel keys, type info. when complete press store.
To play press play and the address 01-99 to print.
To delete press del. and address.

IBM Wheelwriter 6 reprint key


There is no replay key on a WW6 however there is a memory.
On the L. side of the keyboard there are 3 keys store, play and delete, to store hold store and type 01-99 as an address release thwe keys and type info when finished press store again.
To play hold play and type address.
To delete follow same proc.

On the l. side of the keyboard there are keys labeled store, play & delete. Press & hold store then type an address 01 thru 99 release store and type whatever you want. Upon completion press store again. To play it back press play and the address, to clear delete and address.

The WW15 does not have a recallable memory, it has a reprint memory that will repeat what you have JUST typed, code reprt top left kry on the keyboard will activate if you want a full memory get a WW5 or 6.

Print from the memory


If this an ibm ww30 the row of keys on the left labled store delete & play control the memory press and hold store and press 0 thru 99 to assign an address release store key type info then press store again, to print press play and the address .

You can hook up a standard computer monitor to the typewriter, but it won't recognize color, and sometimes on eBay you can find IBM POS (point of sale) monitors that will work on the typewriter. Do you still have the typewriter?

The WW 2000 has a memory. Press and hold the store key and 1 thru 99 as an address, when typing is complete perss store again your info is now stored in that adress. To play it back press play and the adress.
