The refrigerator side is not cooling though the freezer section is working.

What you should be looking for is a blocked air flow. The fan in the freezer will push air up to the fridge and cool it off. Look for a dead fan motor in the freezer or a blocked air vent Good luck

The refrigerator side is at present working properly , but slowly slowly, it will also loose its cooling.This will happen because, freezer side is the side which cools first, then the refrigerator side ( also called as fridge side)., gets cooled.If freezer side is not cooling / freezing properly then fridge side will also loose its cooling ability.------------ And later on both section will loose its cooling.----------- As per the present situation, it indicates problem with compressor or problem with freezer side door not closing properly.---------- Or the temperature in freezer section is not set to proper cooling/ freezing.--------- So first inspect temperature, is it set right? If ok, then check the freezer door , is it properly closed? If ok, then its compressor problem.? I have a side by side jenn-air refrigerator, the freezer compartment working fine and making ice like it should, however the refrigerator compartmant is not cooling, no cold air is felt, I need advise.

SINCE THE FRESH FOOD SECTION GETS ITS COOLING BY AIR CIRCULATION FROM THE FREEZER, THERE MUST BE A RESTRICTION IN AIR FLOW SOMEWHERE. CHECK THE FREEZER EVAPORATOR AND FAN TO BE SURE THAT THE FAN IS RUNNING, AND THE EVAPORATOR IS NOT RESTRICTED WITH FROST. CHECK THE DAMPER OPENINGS FROM THE FREEZER SIDE TO BE SURE THEY AREN'T ICED OVER. IF IT IS AN ELECTRONIC CONTROL, CHECK THE THERMISTOR CIRCUIT FOR PROPER RESISTANCE. TECH SHEET INSTALLED BEHIND THE TOE PLATE SHOULD GIVE THAT INFORMATION.

Most side by side and other models of refrigerator freezer combinations are of one basic design. The freezer section does the cooling for both compartments. The refrigerator section gets it cold air from the freezer compartment. Therefore check for frost on the back wall of the freezer compartment. If frost is present there you have a defrost problem and it is cutting off the air that cools the refrigerator section.

I think this problem may already be resolved in some manor because of the date of post. Posts should expire after an unreasonable time period.

Check the back wall of the freezer section for signs of frost build-up. If the freezer coil is frozen from a fault in the defrost system your refrigerator will be the first to show signs of not cooling.

Unless specifically made for use in a garage most units won't work properly. The owners manual should say what the temp range for proper operation is (usually 55F is the low range). This is because the refrigerator section doesn't need to be "cooling" to maintain 37F if the temps on the outside are below 55F. These things are made to work in a 70F room and will not work properly if under 55F. Stupid thing thinks it's cold enough so it will never turn on, the refer section will stay cold/cool due to outside temps but since the compressor never runs the freezer will just be the same temp as the refer section (at best). Sorry, but in order for a freezer or refrigerator to work in an unheated space it must have the temp control device controling the freezer section NOT the fresh food section. In other words, that model will not work in a garage unless the temps are above 55F always.
