Change a cartridge? the printer will tell you which one needs replacing. It will present it at the front behind the hatch. The coloured bit, on the right is a lever / lock. Stick your thumb under the bottom and lift it up. It's quite stiff.

Pull cartridge out by this up turned lock. i.e. lead the cartridge out right side first.

replace cartridge by pushing the left hands side a little ahead of the right.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa, the world's largest product support community.

The message E 511: Service Required is commonly due to the Photo Conductor Unit's tabs getting stuck. So the first thing we need to do is to remove the PHoto Conductor Unit. Here are the step to remove the Photo Conductor Unit off of your EPSON Aculaser C1100.

1. Turn the printer on, and open cover B.

You need to remove the cyan cartridge, and thoroughly clean the inside of the printer (please use proper printer cleaning kit, not a damp cloth!). The sensors can get crudded up with loose toner inside the machine.

Toner changing

Open the front door, poke a screwdriver into the interlock on the left side. Rotate the carriage as you wish.

You can also rotate to the correct cartridge by using the printer driver and via the control panel on the printer.

Epsom C1100 - Changing cartridges

Hi,
On the left hand side of the cartridge door, there is an actuator that disconnects the carousel latch, allowing you to manually turn it. You should then be able to remove the incorrect cartridge.
Hope this helps
