My computer is an HP pavilion 753n. Been trying to get rid of the "Spyware-XP 2008" that showed up on my pc a few weeks ago. Loaded Spyware Doctor....It seems to get rid of it, but I have to go into desktop and reset my desktop to "none",to get rid of the spyware message. Then everything seems fine..............UNTIL I shut down my computer. When I turn it back on..................It's BAAACK!!. Even if I disconnect the internet cable from the computer, and pull the power plug, and do a cold boot. What do I do, now? HELP!!

If you want to protect yourself from being a victim of targeted online advertisement and password theft download a free spyware removal tool and install the software. Like the computer virus, spyware is also a type of malware but of different nature. Unlike computer viruses, spywares do not replicate themselves, corrupt files, or infected other computers that come into contact with the infected computer. The construction of the spyware is also different from the computer viruses. Therefore the regular anti virus software that we use can not protect our PC from the spyware infections.

In addition to Avast, you want to download and install Spybot Search & Destroy, which focuses on cleaning out spyware, malware, adware, etc. It also provides real-time protection against them. One thing to remember about anti-spyware and anti-virus programs is that you need to update them at least once a week.

I had this issue a short while ago and after trying many "solutions" a friend suggested Avast (http://www.avast.com). This freeware antivirus works even better than McAfee at most things including spyware. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Keeps freezing. Multiple times in minutes

You may have a virus or malware.
It's also possible you have a driver conflict.
For the virus situation this will help. You will need a clean pc to download the files, then boot your problem pc in safe mode to tranfer teh files. Power on, tap F8 key till you get windows boot options. Choose safe mode.
My favorite solution for one time use is this.. Use a clean PC to download if possible.
This tool is designed to run under Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/VISTA/7 32-bit.

For Virus and Malware use Trend Micro Standalone AV and malware remover. Read about it here.. http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/tsc/readme.txt

Download the Sysclean module.

http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/tsc/sysclean.zip

Unzip all contents into a folder.

Download and unzip into same folder, the latest versions of the AV pattern files:
" lpt$vpn.XXX " in ZIP format as lptXXX.ZIP from the following location: http://www.trendmicro.com/download/viruspattern.asp

Download and unzip the latest Spyware pattern file.. http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/pattern/spyware/ssaptn/ssaptn145.zip

into the same folder with other files..

Copy folder and all contents onto infected PC in Safe Mode. and run the Sysclean.com module.. (double click it)

Choose to remove threats, all drives.. Let it run till complete.

Cross fingers.. all will be clear.

If this does not resolve the problem, re-post back her for more help.

I have this problem with my laptop an error message appears when starting,Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\MP3 PLUGIN.DLL.How do i fix this?i have tried to go to the start menu to search for...

That is a file associate with the My Web Search malware. You need to run a spyware scan and get rid of that program, the sooner the better. Your virus scanner might pick it up, but I prefer Spybot Search & Destroy - it's free and still the best one available.

You can also remove the whole thing manually - http://www.pchell.com/support/mywebsearch.shtml

BIOS problem

O.k. start by making a bootable disc or diskette to flash the bios with. This should get the machine to recognize the drive. If this is what you did before, do it again, because something didn't download or come out right on the disc. Once you've done the flash, if the hhd still isn't recognized then most likely the virus has done it's damage and the hhd is shot. Just a piece of advice, run only one antivirus, I recommend AVG, it's all you need for antivirus, spyware, and adware, the new 8.0 version is right on. With antivirus, the more the merrier, IS NOT the case. You actually made your system more vulnerable by having several antivirus along with spyware. The antivirus companies have made them to recognize other antivuruses as a threat. So, they conflict with each other, and can't do their job.

My computer keeps turning off

I am encountered that kind of problem before i am also trying to replaced some of my comuter parts but the problem still there. I am only solved the problem when i installed pctools spyware doctor. pctools removed a lot of spyware virus in my system and i installed the registry mechanic to fixed the registry. After i reboot my computer the problem is gone. the spyware virus sometimes is cause of the compuer to shutting down automatically without any warning messages.
