I just worked on two of these Casio's, they have a lot of room for dirt and sand to get into the gears that operate the lens, eventually jamming the gears, I was able to clean out one so everything worked, the other would not zoom. I would not recommend taking them apart unless you really know what you are doing. This info is to tell you what happens to these cameras. They seem like you could just throw it in your pocket/purse, but you can't, They need to be in a bag that prevents dust and sand from entering, or they will not last long at all.

Could be that a gear in the lens is broken. Try PhotoTech repair in NYC. They are reputable and are authorized by the manufacturer to do repairs.

Zoom adjustment wont move, chg battery and no help. help

  1. In many apps, you can zoom in or out on specific items. For example, you can double-tap or pinch to look closer in Photos or expand webpage columns in Safari. You can also use the Zoom feature to magnify the screen no matter what you're doing. You can magnify the entire screen (Full Screen Zoom) or magnify only part of the screen with a resizable lens (Window Zoom). And, you can use Zoom together with VoiceOver.
  1. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Zoom, then turn on Zoom.
  2. Adjust any of the following:
    • Follow Focus: Track your selections, the text insertion point, and your typing.
    • Smart Typing: Switch to Window Zoom when a keyboard appears.
    • Keyboard Shortcuts: Turn on keyboard shortcuts to control Zoom.
    • Zoom Controller: Turn the controller on, set controller actions, and adjust the color and opacity.
    • Zoom Region: Choose Full Screen Zoom or Window Zoom.
    • Zoom Filter: Choose None, Inverted, Grayscale, Grayscale Inverted, or Low Light.
    • Maximum Zoom Level: Drag the slider to adjust the level.
  3. If you use iPhone with a pointer device, you can also set the following below Pointer Control:
    • Zoom Pan: Choose Continuous, Centered, or Edges to set how the screen image moves with the pointer.
    • Adjust Size with Zoom: Allow the pointer to scale with zoom.
  4. To add Zoom to Accessibility Shortcut, go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut, then tap Zoom.
  1. Double-tap the screen with three fingers or use accessibility shortcuts to turn on Zoom.
  2. To see more of the screen, do any of the following:
    • Adjust the magnification: Double-tap the screen with three fingers (without lifting your fingers after the second tap), then drag up or down. Or triple-tap with three fingers, then drag the Zoom Level slider.
    • Move the Zoom lens: (Window Zoom) Drag the handle at the bottom of the Zoom lens.
    • Pan to another area: (Full Screen Zoom) Drag the screen with three fingers.
  3. To adjust the settings with the Zoom menu, triple-tap with three fingers, then adjust any of the following:
    • Choose Region: Choose Full Screen Zoom or Window Zoom.
    • Resize Lens: (Window Zoom) Tap Resize Lens, then drag any of the round handles that appear.
    • Choose Filter: Choose Inverted, Grayscale, Grayscale Inverted, or Low Light.
    • Show Controller: Show the Zoom Controller.
  4. To use the Zoom Controller, do any of the following:
    • Show the Zoom menu: Tap the controller.
    • Zoom in or out: Double-tap the controller.
    • Pan: When zoomed in, drag the controller.
While using Zoom with Magic Keyboard, the screen image follows the insertion point, keeping it in the center of the display. See Use Magic Keyboard with iPhone.
To turn off Zoom, double-tap the screen with three fingers or use accessibility shortcuts.

THE ZOOM WHEN USED GOES OUT AND THEN RETURNS AUTOMATICALLY TO NORMAL

Could it be you mean the lens barrel comes out, but I can't use the camera? Or does the lens barrel directly go back to the "in" position. If so, check the battery, or even better charge the battery. Then check if the lens, on its way out, is not blocked by anything. Because the slightest obstruction, will cause the lens to retract. The camera does this to avoid extra damage to the barrel and or the mechanics behind it.

When i turn my camra on zooming error keeps popping up im new to this camra what am i doing wrong

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Andrea

My fujifilm s1000 keeps showing "zoom error." I don't know what happend. It's like one day it's working, the next not. I have a family member graduating Friday and can't afford a new camera. I've taken out...

Hi.

If you try turning on the camera with the lens cap on, you may get zoom error. Ensure that you are removing the lens cap before turning on the camera.

If the autofocus ring is held while taking the picture, or operating the lens this will also cause the Zoom error message coming up.

If that is not the problem, then the lens has troubles extending. This may happen because of dust stuck in lens mechanism, or because of a mechanical fault concerning the lens.
Any cause preventing lens from full extention or retraction will trigger zoom error.

I put new battery in my camra when i turn it on it on it does not show the picture on screen the battery indecator show low batterys but they are new

Your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may require professional repair.

Examine the lens carefully. you will see that the outer lens is out of line with the inner lens. . hold the camera firmly with one hand using the fingers of the second hand firmly nudge the outer lens back in line. reinsert battery and test.

My Pentax Optio S7 has developped a fault. When I turn it on, the zoom pops out, the screen lights up but it makes a buzzing sound then the zoom retracts and it switches itself off.

The gearing for the lens has become damaged and the lens can no longer fully extend. As a result, the camera detects a fault when attempting to extend the lens and shuts itself off. The most frequent cause of this kind of damage is dropping the camera with the lens extended. Always used the wrist strap!

Unfortunately, there is no way to correct this at the consumer level for this camera. It is very compactly designed, and the lens is the hardest to get at. Even if you were able to get to it, you'd still need the replacement part for whatever has become damaged. You will need to return this for repairs - although with the price of this camera, buying a new one will probably be cheaper.

Zoom Lens Fault

i am assuming you have no flash attached(front or rear curtain sync is a slowed shutter motion hence x 2 clicks)it sounds like it could be a sticky shutter and it senses a fault and shuts camera down. see the warranty and get it to an authorised repair service. its not a mechanical camera so sod working on it yourself you could do more harm than good. jason
