Dark pictures after a lamp change normally indicate that the lamp isn't aligned properly, or that it has been touched with bare fingers and caused a black mark, or it's an inferior (budget) lamp.

In looking at other forums I saw that putting it on the the energy saving mode helped I tried that because the bulb has hardly any hours and is still the original and the air filter is clean The energy saving mode worked the projector hasn't been shutting down

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Check the power supply , it can be a fault on the power being inadequate or there is an error to the processor that seems to cut off power. try and check the lamp connections, check the lamp door switch, the filters- clean if dirty

You should replace the lamp it is already damage, when you replace the lamp do not forget to reset the lamp hour meter.

Not for a while yet. You'll need to use the "standard" lamp. Do not forget to reset the lamp timer when you change the lamp.

i have the same problem, a clear image, the the projector shuts down, turn the fan on, and "lamp" blinks.

i returned my projector to viewsonic service center, they told me to change the lamp.

the problem is that a lamp is very expensive!

your gonna need to get a service manual from the manufacturer and do a convergence alighnment with the on board generator. Unless some unknowing hands have been inside the unit.?? Contact them here at this link Good Luck [email protected]
