Volume is gone (except for a clicking noise)

Check whether the mute function is ON or not. If not, the muting section circuit inside has the fault.

High pitched noise coming from TV

could either be the speakers on the tv packing up and the only best way to fix this either take it into a shop to get repaired or just bin and get another one depends on how much it would cost to fix

Need Replacement Front Panel

The Sony KV-36FS100 listed as the model number here DOES NOT HAVE A PANEL--uses a picture tube---if another model/brand let me know.

As far as the broken buttons---they may be available as a unit or not depending on the age of the set.

Getting an original remote would allow you to do without those--if you do not have the original remote (or it does not work) GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER OF THE SET WITH "remote" to locate a replacement.

Why does my sony trinitron makes a high pitch noise when on and/or off ?

It's the flyback transformer. Check for bad connections on the flyback and on horizontal output circuit.

My sansui tv makes a loud high pitch noise. I have had it 3 years, it is a a riging noise, and hard to hear the tv shows. what do i do?

ever since for ever, ive always heard a loudish high pitched ring from analog tv's. e.g. i would know a tv was on in another room even if it was muted. ive told other people about it but they dont seem to hear what i hear. so im gonna geuss either

a. analog tv's all make that noise to a verying degree but most people just dont notice it or subconciously cancle it out as normal.

b. its a kind of hyper sensitivity to high pitched noise, in essence, tinitus.

on a final note, its not medical as i always pass my hearing tests. but to answer your question, either buy a digital tv or turn up the volume.

Speakers on Sony KV-36FS100

if you could find replacement speakers for this unit, which is probably not an easy task in itself, it would take some know-how and safety measures before you could likely do this yourself. Televsisions deal with Extremely high voltages internally and if you do not know what not to touch, you could find yourself very injured in no time at all... better bet is to simply purchase a small stereo of some sort that allows aux inputs and use this for your speakers instead of the tv speakers. probably cheaper than buying a tv, and hey, may even be worth the upgrade to a surround system of sorts...

High pitch sound for Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27HS420 27" TV

The high pitch squeal you hear is usually caused by a coil vibrating, normally in the horizontal circuit. I've also seen the ferrite bead on the horizontal output transistor do this, but, it is rare. I normally will repair this by finding the coil and "tightening" it. To tighten a coil, technicians use different chemicals, such as, a hot glue gun, rubber silicone or even finger nail polish. I will find the coil that screams by starting with the usual suspects and using a wooden dowel, barely touch the coil and if the pitch of the noise changes, then, thats the coil that needs repaired. If you do not know your way around the inside of a television, I never recommend you do so, since, this procedure must be done with the set turned on and you poke your hands around the inside of the set by the high voltage circuit. Hope this helps your decision.
