My DEH-680MP Stopped Working....

Recently, when i turned on my car, i noticed that the display on my cd player wasn't working. The cd player was playing music, but i wasn't able to see the display. I held the eject button down to flip it down. In doing so, the display was working when I did that. However, it stopped working again after i put the faceplate back in its normal position. After a few minutes of trying to turn it on and off, it just stopped working completely. So as of now, nothing is functioning from it at all. Checked all the fuses and I don't know whether I have to get a new cd player or not. Also, I was wondering how to take off the faceplate, since theres no power to it, to turn it on. Thanks in advance for any help and assistance. Feel free to ask further questions about the problem i have. Thank you!!

I need to find out where i can find a replacement knob for my pioneer premier deh-680mp cd player, without it im afraid my kids will break off the stem. can i help me please?? Sondra Buneta

well sondra, at this point im tempted to just give you mine after car toys and pioneer told me im a liar basically! but you should be able to take the faceplate into any major auto parts store like shucks - o'reillys and most of them have a "help" section where the have racks with all kinds of misc. universal thinga-mabobers, a new knob doesnt have to look exactly like the old one, just make sure its able to pivot still, stays on and has the same "half-moon" notch - K :-)

I have a Pioneer DEH-P3600 detachable face car CD receiver. It has been working great until a week or so ago. After removing the front panel, turning the car off then reattaching it and starting the car...

did you clean the contacts on both the face and the subpanel? what did you use to clean it with. usually qtips and rubbing alcohol or a pencil eraser work best.

I have a pioneer deh-p3600 cd player in my car and it recently stopped working. It would go on and off when I drove around after hitting bumps and such but now it doesn't work at all. Any suggestions.

pull it out and look for poor connections. maybe wasnt installed correctly and wire connections are breaking loose and or touching metal, tape up all connections and if problem is still there check all wiring for insulation missing and tape that area up , also make sure black wire(ground) is securely bolted down to metal!

Buttons stopped working

The contacts on the faceplate or radio are dirty. Remove the faceplate and thoroughly clean the copper contacts with wet Q-tips in alcohol. Also clean the ones on the radio.
