If your connected to a computer, then this means that the computer's resolution is greater than the supported resolution on the TV. Try reducing the resolution on your computer, and reconnecting it to the TV.

If your connected to a cable or satalite box, there should be a "resolution" button on the box. Change this to a lower (or higher) resoulution.

If none of these work, try changing the TV input. This may be a simple but common mistake. Also, if required, make sure your TV channel (not cable or satalite) is on the default channel (usualy 03).

If it still doesn't work, contact GE and tell them the problem. If anything, they can help fix it. If it is still under warrenty, they can have a repair person come to your house and fix the TV.

Good luck!

Screen stays blue and wont show the picture

TV may be on the wrong input and that will give you a blue screen. When you turn the TV on and the screen starts lighting up it should show on the screen what input the tv is on. If it is not on correct input change input with the TV remote or buttons on the tv. If it is on the correct input try a power cycle on the cable box, just unplug the cable box power cord for a few seconds and then plug it back in. If neither of these solve the problem describe how the cable box is connected to the tv.

I have a rear projection Mitsubishi VS-70803 and fixed it with the help of eagle338 it was working fine for a year and a half. So new issue is I was watching TV and all the sudden i hear a faint spark

The set MAY have the self check feature.

If the set is plugged in and you turn it on and a few seconds later the power light goes off:

On front of set press and hold both the menu and input (device on some) buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both.

Power light should then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat the error for a total of 5 times.

If you get an error code let me know what it is.

IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off:
On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.

Tv says it will turn off in a few seconds check if air way is blocked

what brand, type and model of tv is it? some tv's will simply turn off if they don't have a signal-like cable, antenna, satellite, present at the rf input (antenna or Cable input on back of tv)-try using component or hdmi connection and see if it is still present. if not, you probably need to recheck your cable, etc connection to your tv.

My 65 inch projection TV turns off within a few seconds when I turn it on. Why? No pictures or sound.

If power light does come on and a few seconds later it goes off---do the self check that the WS65909 MITSUBISHI should have:

On the front of the set press and hold both the MENU and INPUT(OR DEVICE) BOTH FOR 5 SECONDS AND THEN RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS.

Power light should blink a two digit code--error code---for example: 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks.

Let me know what code you get----it will repeat it several times---and I will tell you what it means.

Plasma tv screen goes black once you turn it on. Only sound

I have a panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV. When I watch TV programing I have no problems, or with the DVD input. But if I switch to another input, be it video game (PS2) or vcr the screen sometimes goes black and the red power lcd light next to the power switch flashes. Holding the power button in for a few seconds will shut down the tv. Then I can turn it back on and it may operate normally again for a undetermined period of time, before the screen goes black again. This never happened when new. The tv is about 1 year old. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks Ernie

TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

Certain HD settings won't work

no the set uses only two settings in the Y, Pb,Pr which it swithes back and forth. when a 480i,480p SD singal is detected it will switch to 480p, when an HD signal is detected it swiches to 1080i. when it swiches the picture scrambles for a second or two. to correct this in your cable box (if it's a motorola box) leave the tv on, press the power button on the box to shut down the box. next press the menu button on the box and the internal menu will show. use the cursor buttons on the box to select "480i overide" use the arrow to the right to select "streached" them hit menu to get out. hit the power button to turn the box back on.
