You should enter the settings of the camera and select the right usb mode.
your camera will most likely have a setting like mass storage.
this is an easy mode and will show yo camera as an ordinary flash drive and when you plug it in windows can even give you an option to view pictures or even copy them to your documents.
Alternatively install any picture editing software and put the camera into any pictbridge mode and from within the software you will be able to view edit and save the pictures.
BUT i would recomend the first method because it is less technical.
Most like;ly your camera should have come with some form of its own software so i would recomend installing that and using that.
GOOD LUCK

I received a new canon camera and downloaded Zoom Browser EX which works fine BUT now I can't download pics from our earlier model canon EOS camera. Can this be fixed??

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. This method also has the advantage of working for any camera (at least as long as the camera uses a memory card compatible with the reader).

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

This is a registry error. Try this: type regsvr32 quartz.dll in the run box on your computer. That would be: Click start, run, and then type this into the box.
If yoou do this correctly, you should see a message that it was registered correctly.
Try the program to see if it fixed the issue.

My guess is that you have a different OS than you had before which means that you probably need a new driver for your camera. Keep in mind that vista and Windows 7 require different drivers than XP. Look for your model of camera and download the latest software and drivers from canon.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that issue is with the EOS Utility itself.

Uninstall the EOS Utility, restart the Computer and then install the EOS Utility again.

This should resolve the issue.

If the issue persists, check for any update for the EOS Utility and install the update to resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not able to load the drivers for my printer and my camera on my new Gateway laptop. I have an old Compaq A3000 all-in-one and a Canon Rebel XT camera. The cd's do not seem to download the drivers....

One solution is to go to the website of the printer manufacturer and the camera manufacturer and download the drivers directly from the website.
Try this for Compaq A3000
http://www.nodevice.com/driver/Compaq_A3000/get39288.html.
Same thing for canon camera.
Good luck

Canon zoombrowser Ex downloading problem

Go to the "Add and Remove Programs" in your Control panel.
Do a "Change" and do the 'repair program' utility.
That should fix it, good as new.
If that is not a possible option, try uninstalling. (if there is no "Change" and 'repair program') then Run the normal uninstall program.
