Question about InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

I goofed. I took my 4805 apart to clean the dust and I damaged a plastic lense inside by the chemical on my cloth. It didn't destroy the lense but it removed a pink looking coating on the lense. I am not sure what this coating does but it doesn't seem to be as clear as before. Only I can notice the difference but I am very observant. The lense is clear and no scratches just missing that light pink coating. Can I get parts like that? Too expensive to send it in for repair!

Hi there

No unfortunately they won't sell that separatelly to the public. If you send it in for repair they WILL replace the lens and it WILL cost you a arm & a leg.

Sorry dude !

The eyepiece lenses have something on the inside. Can they be removed for cleaning?

  1. Carefully clean your binoculars by firstly removing any dirt or dust from the main body and straps using a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid the lenses at this point using any form of cloth on the lenses before removing all dirt and dust particles first could destroy them.
  1. Gently remove all traces of grit, dirt or dust particles from the lenses using a soft lens brush or canned air specifically designed for the purpose.
  1. Waterproof binoculars can be rinsed gently under a tap but be sure to use on lightly running water, avoid high pressure water as it could damage your binoculars.
  1. Gently remove any remaining marks using lens cleaning tools such as a lens pen or lens cleaning fluid and lens tissue. Do not be tempted to use kitchen towel or anything else lying around that is slightly rough and may scratch the surface of the lens, only use a lens pen, lens tissue or a lens cloth. Gently wipe the lens using a circular motion working from the centre of the lens to the outer edge. NEVER apply lens cleaning fluid directly onto the glass (always apply to the cloth) and always ensure that the lens cleaning fluid you are using is recommended for the type of lens coatings that have been applied to your binoculars (Do not use general household glass cleaning products or products designed to clean computer screens or glasses. Such products could destroy the lens coatings of your binoculars if used).

I have just had an iflo metal bath installed but am unsure what products should be used to clean it

When cleaning your metal bath you should clean your bathtub with a non-abrasive soap. Dishwashing detergent such as Joy®, Palmolive®, Ivory®, etc and a soft sponge or cloth is all that you need. If you spill something on the bathtub and need something stronger, the following are SAFE to use: Fantastic®, Tackle®, Top Job®, Formula 409®, ScrubFree®, Calgon Bath®, Windex®, Clorox Bleach®, Spiffits® Bath, Glass Plus®, and **** & Span Powder®.

DO NOT Clean Your Acrylic Bathtub with Paint Thinner, Goof OFF®, Scrubbing Bubbles®, Acetone, Lacquer Thinner, M.E.K. ® or other chemicals that attack the structural integrity of plastics (including, but not limited to, acetones). Use of these chemicals will destroy the acrylic surface of your bathtub and there is no way to reverse the damage caused by this type of chemical reaction. Use of these chemicals will void your warranty.

Mitsubishi wd 62527 has very dark picture changed

Clean the small front projection mirror. That mirror can get dust on it and will cause the projected image to appear dull and dim and cleaning that mirror will usually restore the brightness and crisp details in the image.

My unit seems to work fine, except there is a dark shadow covering the right third of the projected image. Is this a sign that the bulb is going out?

this is the light tunnel needing to be adjusted or replaced because is has collasped due to the heat given off by the lamp during the life of the projector.

How to clean the screen of our 42" Visio HDTV

Vizio TVs come with a cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. If you don't have that anymore, any lint-free cloth should do. If any smears are stubborn, dampen the cloth, then wipe clean.

Never use household cleaning solutions on your screen. Some chemicals can damage plastic.

Mitsubishi WD-62527 replacement lamp install and brightness low

as i previously posted, my picture was dim, muddy looking after replacing lamp with osram lamp. i fixed mine by taking the screen off and cleaning the small mirror. it had a thick layer of dust on it, cleaned with a microfiber cloth. no water, no glass cleaners. i also used a very fine new small paint brush and dusted the projector lens which also had a dust film. brightness, contrast and clarity returned!

Cleaning lenses/lamps on mitsubishi VS-60805

A can of compressed air might do the trick. If dirt is stuch, I'd suggest useing the same chemicals/cloths/etc you would use for cleaning camera lenses. Check at your local photo store.

Just make sure the lenses aren't hot when you apply cold and/or flamable chemicals.
