Problems with my insignia mp3 player

Well one day i was listening to my mp3 player and the screen froze up and the music stopped playing.and would not turn off until about 7 hours and now i cant charge it add songs to it or turn it on and i need it 4 my cheer compition on Saturday 3/15/08 please help please

A Possible solution is to charger it all the way up 'til it's full, and then try turning it on. If that doesn't work, you may have to call sansa, and/or take out the battery and put it back in. This requires a special screwdriver.

You may want to try to reformat the player and then load music again after the restore. It also may be a problem on the type of file you are trying to play. Most common formats are .wma, .mp3, .wav

Cracked screen


Thier nothing u can do at this point, either get a new mp3 player or somehow manage with the one u have now.

Forgot how to use my Insignia MP3 player.


Power up:

If the player is laying flat with the screen facing left, you will see a large circle button and two buttons above the circle. The button on left above the circle is the power button.

To start playing music:
Press the button in the middle of the large circle with a small triangle facing the right (the play button)

To stop music:
Pressing the same button mentioned above will pause the music while pressing the power button I first mentioned will turn off the unit completely and stop the music as well.

Frozen/wont charge/turn on


when your mp3 player freezes hold the power switch like your going to turn it off and holdit for roughly 10 seconds. that should reset the mp3 player

The screen is turning white when I change song


You could possibly try recovery mode?

or formatting it and starting over, see if that helps

easy way to format

1.Shutdown player
2.Hold Rec button
3.Turn player on
4.Plug your player into the PC
5.Go to My computer
6.Find a Icon named 16Mb Format
7.Open that and make a new text file
8.Name it sansa.fmt
9.unplug player and it will say Formatting.....
10.when its finished it will reset , or shut off, when its done turn it on and see if that helps

Cant play songs off my playlist

You can thank Microsoft for creating Digital Rights Management.

Okay...I'm assuming this is an MP3 that you loaded using the Rhapsody-to-go or other music service that allows for subscription music.

What the MP3 player is telling you is that because you have subscription music and not purchased music, the DRM allows you to only play the song or songs 30-90 days after download. To continue to listen to the songs, you will need to open your Media Manager software (Best Buy Digital Music Service, Rhapsody, WMP11, Media Monkey, etc) connect your MP3 player to the PC, identify the MP3 player through the media manager and tell it to re-authorize your tracks. Once its finished you'll be able to play your songs for another 30-90 days. You will need to repeat this re-authorizing to continue to play the tracks.

Hold the power button for a while. Then it'll turn off.
