-   Same problem, not event the link with the driver helped. Would download and install the driver manually, but I have no clue what driver to download. Pointing the hardware installer to the downloaded "driver" exe doesn't work (didn't expect it too).
It's times like these that I'm thankful that my main computer is a Mac!

Here is a quick fix: 1. Download the driver file from http://forums.driverguide.com/showthread.php?t=36528 2. Extract this file to C:\WINDOWS\PixArt\PAC207 3. Update camera driver with oem57.inf 4. During install you might be prompted to specified path to PFC027.SYS. Point to C:\WINDOWS\PixArt\PAC207
It will work as expected. Enjoy!

I had the same problem with the 25-298. However when I didnt install the drivers, Windows found the hardware and it worked without needing to install anything. Then I installed the drivers and I got a message box that said "fail". The camera would not work after that.
My Gentoo installation couldnt detect the camera either. Bummer because its a 2.0 MP and I had GREAT quality when it was working. The drivers are horrible.
You must check first if you have successfully loaded the drivers. GO TO DEVICE MANAGER. You should be able to see your pc camera listed there. If it is listed and it has a YELLOW QUESTION MARK, that means that the drivers for the pc camera was not installed. Install the drivers manually.
Sorry. I just experienced the same problems. Frustrating...My suggestion: Just return it to Radio Shake or wherever you bought it, and get yourself a better camera. A few more bucks will save you the waste of time and headaches. Best of luck.
Windows XP service pack 1 does not support the camera.
Generic XP SPII (2) driver recognize camera, gives you basic use of the camera AND microphone. Skype works with the camera. I did replace a Logitec quick cam notebook, with this. No mfg driver needed with my HP XP Media edition & service pack 2.
Do not install the supplied driver or software.

I bought a 2-PC gigaware webcam 25-297 Radio Shark product but can't install it with the driver that came with it. I have tried getting solution online but no clue from it. The CD that came with it will just run for some times and stop.It gets to finish the installation but the icon does not appear and when the camera is plugged in it says the device is not installed. I have window xp.

exactly the same problems, will return it tomorrow.
I bought a gigaware webcam (model 25-297) and i can't seem to install its driver into my computer (windows XP). Everytime i attempt to do that, the installshield will run for sometime and suddenly it just disappear with only the icon on the bar next to the start menu. When i go to the windows task manager, it appears to be there but there seems to be no activity done by the program. Any Help would be GREATLY appreciated, i have NO idea whats wrong or what i need to do to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.
after installing the driver cd that came with thegigaware 25-297 2-pack, window appeared with amessage that said, compatable sofware already installed.
i cannot, load sofware from cd, consequently i cannot use my webcam
