Re: "SUDS" mark on my washer
You NEED to use HE (high efficency )detergent. with this machine. you say you used regular soap.affresh is not a detegrent but a cleaning product for the washer not for your clothes but for the washer it self. theese pumps are real senstive to excessive suds generated by "regular" detergent. HE is low sudsing designed especially for the front loading machines

The f02 error code is caused when the unit control thinks there is still water in the tub after it has tried to drain. If the washer is full of soap suds it will also display an f02 error code. You will need to use only name brand HE detergent. If your washer is not draining the water out you will need to clean the pump filter. I have provided the instructions below. Run the washer in a drain and spin to ensure the pump is running. If the washer has no water and no suds the problem will be either the pressure switch or a plugged pressure hose. To check the pressure hose you will need to remove the top and remove the hose from the pressure switch.
this is a suds lock and a very nightmare of a call....... are you using high effeciency soap and do you ever run a clean cycle ....... i prefer an affresh cleaning tablet once a month...... first things first need to drain all water out of washer threw drain hose connected to drain pump .... then check for any float obstructions at bottom of outer tub to drain pump large 4 inch ruber hose at bottom of tub with a plastic ball in it make sure there isnt any lint causing float ball not to seal in pump vacum... then reinstall and reconnect hoses then check pump filter sump trap for debris and reinstalll next open washer and install an affresh cleaning tablet and select hotest water cycle or clean cycle if washer is equipped with this feature and close door and let washer run ...m if code comes back you make have to repeat draining and pump steps a COUPLE OF TIMES TO REMOVE EXCESS SOAP BUILDUP..,. CAUSIN SUDS ERROR LOCK CODE.....
Hi When washer detects suds then this error appears. NOTE: After 4 minutes the SUD error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed. ? Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. ? Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. ? Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. ? If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump. There are 3 small 9/32 hex head screws that hold the front panel on. Unscrew the 3 hex head screws (9/32 socket or nut driver size), now remove the front kick panel. Unscrew the white drain cap -WARNING-- lots of water will drain out when you loosen the white cap. Once all the water is out, remove and take out the filter trap. Hope this helps... Please post back for more information Daniel
he F02 message is a long drain error and it may mean the pump is clogged or bad. You don't provide a lot of detail about if the water is draining out or not but the first thing to check for this error is the drain pump.
The image below shows how to access the pump and remove the filter. This may be your only problem. With the access panel removed you can also make sure the pump is running. Remember to unplug the washer before removing the access panel.
Check the pump for the F02 and make sure you're using HE detergent and there's not excessive suds.
The Sd code on most Kenmore Elite HE washers indicates a suds lock (usually caused by excessive suds do to overuse of detergent). Check for the presence of excessive suds in the washer. If you see a lot of foam, the code is likely caused by this problem. You will likely be able to drain the washer and spin out the clothes once the suds dissipate. Run an empty cycle with 1 cup of liquid chlorine bleach through the washer to help rinse out suds residue. If you see foam emerging during the empty cycle, you may need to repeat this process. You can also use Washer Magic or AFFRESH to help clean suds residue out of the washer. These products are available at your local Sears store or the grocery store. Make sure that you are using HE (High Efficiency) detergent in the appropriate quantity. You may need as little as a tablespoon of detergent in a high efficiency washer due to the low water level. You may need even less for a while since the clothes will likely have detergent still dissolved in the fibers that will emerge during subsequent wash cycles.
There are many different models of Kenmore Elite HE washers. If you do not see any apparent problem with excessive suds or need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore Elite HE washer.
