Question about Siren Edge MP3 Player

Siren MP3 turns screen off but sound keeps playing

I got my husband this MP3 player and he used it one or two times. He is not into technology so it has been sitting unused for about 4 months. My MP3 player broke so today I decided to use his. As I listen to my books on MP#, the screen goes all black. I can still hear the book. If I try to hit the menu button, or the volume button, nothing happens. I cannot even turn it off! I have to pop the battery out to turn it off! Sometimes (about half the time) the sound turns garbled when it does this. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks, CJ

The screen turns off in less than a minute regardless of any settings. Most of the time the sound continues, in which case it IS possible to turn the player off by holding down the power button (blindly). But occasionally, it starts screeching instead of normal music and nothing short of battery removal works.

I had the same problem when I purchased this for my son. I called the place where I purchased it from to return it, they requested a call tag from UPS, then after 1 more try, I turned it on and was able to get the menu button to work and went through some of the different functions and it started working again. I would suggest just experimenting with some of the controls and see if that maybe will trigger something in it. Ever since then, it has worked fine.

I have a mp3 by the brand of (siren) and need to know to download music of the computer.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

HELP!!!

The songs that you are syncing may not be in the right format for this particular Mp3 player. Where did you get the songs?
Q: What type of files can I play?
A: Mp3 and WMA files. DRM protected WMA files, such as those purchased from many online music services, must be copied to the player via Windows Media Player or the music management software compatible with your online music store.

The player does not support AAC file playback.
(i.e: iTunes will not work)

My siren 4GB mp3 player

Why does my player display "Boot error, Shutting Down" when I switch it on?
"– The player has been formatted with the wrong system, for example NTFS, Mac OS or Unix. To enable it again for playing audio tracks, please format the player in FAT/FAT32 format."

– If formatting was not successful, please reinstall the firmware while the player is in Recovery mode (Refer to the chapter "If the player does not work" in your instruction manual).

Hope this helps. M~

I don't know what is wrong... With my Siren Edge

Try windows Recovery Mode first:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
