Question about Joy Toshiba Satellite A105 S4074 Notebook
My laptop boots up but then gives me a RPC service failed. And shuts down.
If the other fix that was posted by mewms_14904 does'nt work try this:
Start up in Safe Mode.
Click Start button, Settings and select Control Panel.
Click Administrative Tools and then click Services.
Expand window so you can see what your doing.
In the list in the right pane just above the list there are the title bars
Name | Description | Status etc.
Move the mouse pointer to the line between Name and Description
and it will change to a vertical line with an arrow left and arrow right.
Left click and hold it then move the bar to the right about an 2 inches.
Scroll down the list until you see Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Right click it and click Properties, then click the Log On tab at the top.
Theres a button that says "This Account" if it says NTAuthority \ Network Service
in the account name field and about 15 black dots in the password fields
change it to Local System Account by clicking the button above.
Don't change anything else just click Apply and OK.
Restart and see if reboots properly.
If it does'nt then something else needs looking at, but you
won't have done any harm.
