The set may have locked up internally; if you can, pull the AC plug overnight or for at least an hour to allow the circuitry to power down.
BTW, our original Ilo remote, RC-370C, failed due to a thermal problem (freeze spray would make it work for a few minutes) and had to be replaced for $45.
If it has developed a real problem, it may be junk; service is essentially non-existent.
Wal-mart can really pick 'em.
The best way to hook up is via the HDMI port. Connect a HDMI cable from the PS3's HDMI port the tv's HDMI port. As soon as you power the PS3 and tv on, you should see the initial setup screen. If it does not dispay press and hold the power button of the PS3 for about 5-10 seconds till you hear a couple of beeps and the initial setup screen. After that its just following on screen instrucions to choose your language, resolution(1080i for best quality), aspect ratio(16:9 works best for large screen tvs) etc., If there is some setting that you are unsure about as to what you should choose, let me know and I will help you with that.
Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote, best deal and will have all the original tv functions to it.Don't buy those cheap universal remotes, only have limited functions to ur tv model.
If you get a flash on the red light when you try to turn it on and hear a popping noise. Unplug it then use a hair dryer to heat the inverter up on the right side (power button side) of the tv (up through the vents in the back for 10-15 mins). Plug it back in and turn on.
for a PS3, you have to reset the display settings. So when you go from HDMI, to a different source you need to let the PS3 know you're doing so.
All you do is hold down the power sensor, until the PS3 powers on, then off, then back on.
it sounds like there is a problem with either the output on the PS3 or the input on the circuit board of the TV. I would try a reset on the PS3 first. Also make sure that there are no other video or audio cords plugged into the PS3 because this will cause the PS3 not to send the signal via the HDMI.
I think the Direct TV remote has a scan feature where it'll go through all the TV codes 1 at a time. Then if you see the TV go off, you stop the scan cycle and store it. Read the manual on how to do that. If it never turns off, then it's not compatible.
I ORDERED A NEW REMOTE FROM
I too have this same problem. However I believe that my 32"ILO RC-370C TV is excellent. My problem is this cheap REMOTE that came with the TV. Maybe you might want to call this TV remote company. They give you a year's warranty on their remotes. My TV and remote was only 3 months old. The remote cost $34.99 plus S/S. 1-800-736-6837. Because my TV cost $900.00 later they went down to $800.00. I wish you all well. Miriam
