We were given a Live! Cam Optia Pro webcam as a gift several years ago, and only now have an opportunity to use it.
The video image quality is poor: the image is washed out, as if a bright light were shining on me (I am in a room with no lights on) and the image is jumpy and jittery...not smooth...as if the video flow were not sufficiently fast. These problems were worse until I connected the camera to a USB 2.0 port on my hard drive, but it is still pretty lousy.

This problem is easily sorted I' sure you'll be pleased to hear!. Firstly, go into skype and got to the tools menu. Click options. Once there click on Video options. Here you will see your avatar. Fom the drop down box select Creative Live cam optia pro instead of virtual webcam. You will now be able to video conference! Hope this helps.
This problem is not fixed through the settings of your Creative device but by selecting the right webcamin your messaging software.
When you install your Creative Camera it installs the physical Camera as well as a virtual Camera. So there are actually 2 (or more Camera's installed). The Avatar plays through the virtual Camera.
Whatever programme you are using (MSN or SKYPE etc) you need to select the correct video Camera.
So, for example in MSN messenger, select Tools, Audio Video Setup and select your camera from the list (make sure the Virtual camera is not selected).
To be even clearer as an example: If you are using a LiveCam Notebook Ultra 3 camera, you will see the following listed as cameras when you go to select a webcam to use within your messaging software :
Live! Cam Ultra Notebook #3 -- this is your normal camera
Live! Cam Virtual -- this us the Avatar etc camera,
Live! Cam Ultra Notebook Ultra (VFW) -- this is your widescreen camera

Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you
to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
