Firing order 1,6,5,4,3,2. To find number 1 plug at distributor set timing mark to top dead center on compression stroke and with distributor cap removed rotor will point to number 1 cylinder in cap. Also number 1 cylinder is on drivers side all the way to the front the next cylinder behind that is number 3 and then 5. So passenger side all the way from front will be 2,4,6 at the firewall. Number 1 plug wire will also be the second longest wire in most cases or as long as number 2 cylinder. Hope this helps.

I dont know in what order my spark plug wires hooked up.

Chec here the MUSTANG FIRING ORDER

Below are the firing orders for 5.0L, 4.6L, 3.8L, and 2.3L late model Mustangs. Remember to be very careful when checking your firing order because the ignition system on your car runs on very high voltage. Do not remove spark plug wires from the distributor or spark plugs while the engine is running.
Firing order sequences:
V8's 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
V6's 1-4-2-5-3-6
2.3L 1-3-4-2

Change plugs and wire and engine will not acclerate. This is a built 350 short block chevy with pro charger.

350 Chevy engine in what? 1990 Corvette? Who built it, did you?

Sounds as though you have plug wires wrong.
Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Distributor Ignition System:
Distributor rotates Clockwise. (Rotor)
Find Number 1 tower on distributor cap, go Clockwise with Firing Order.

Distributorless Ignition System:
VIEWING the engine from the Front of the car.

Spark plug wire connections along the back, starting from Left side going to Right side;
2-3-7-4

Spark plug wire connection towards the Front of the engine;
6-1-5-8

(To guess I would say you have 5 and 7 wires switched)

Left side cylinder order is 1-3-5-7, going from front to back.
Drivers side is Left side.
Right side cylinder order is 2-4-6-8, going from front to back.

I have to put the plug wires back on the distributor.

okay remove your driverside sparkplug the one closes to the front this should be #1 piston put a screw driver in the hole but dont let it bind, slowly click the starter until the srew driver come up all the way up this is top dead center TDC now look at the rotor and where the cap lines up this #1 second is#8 piston on the pass side closes to the fire wall or cab so, on the engine #1 piston234 onthe driver side 5678 on the pass side and in order on the cap it should be 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 also make sure you didnt drop the dist in wrong and hav it 180 degrees backwards dont get frustated stop and try again later also make sure this is the right firing order for your dodge i gave you a chevy fire order but i am almost positve this is the order for all v8s
