The volume through a headset or bluetooth is barely audible. I've tried two different headsets and 3 different bluetooth sets, two of which had their own volume controls. Even with the phone headset volume on the maximum of 8, the phone is barely audible in a crowded room or in a car.

I have the same problem and am considering returning the phone because it is so hard to hear--even with Blue tooth or a wired headset.

With the headset (wired) plugged in I can barely hear even with phone volume turned all the way up. I tried closing the phone as an earlier poster suggested, but that just ends the call. Any solutions please?

I have an M500 and am now experiencing the same problem - neither ringer or handset volume is loud enough to hear with any background noise, even when volume maxed out at 8.

My old phone had a separate setting for "earpiece volume" - the M300 Samsung does not. I even purchased a Bluetooth headset to help with this problem. What now REALLY aggravates me is that there is no way to set the volume to remain up on the Bluetooth constantly. You have to individually set each call. Technology sucks big time!

For the folks that are ending their calls by closing it, you can change your settings so that it won't do that. under settings choose how you want to end the call.

I had this problem until I closed the clamshell. This appears to be a feature, not a defect. When the clamshell is open the volume is muted because presumably you have the phone in your hand. When the clamshell is closed the volume is loud and clear

I have the same problem with my m500. When you set the ringer volume, the sample played is very lound. However, upon receiving and incoming call, the ringer is barely audible. I have played with all of the volume and ringer combinations, but it will still not ring loudly when set to volume 8 (loudest setting.) Any help would be appreciated.

A am not getting any sound when faxing or when faxes are coming through and my volume is on loud why is that.. I disconnected plugged it back in changed some settings and i still get nothing

Your HP all-in-one provides three levels for adjusting the ring and speaker volume. The ring volume is the volume of the phone rings. The speaker volume is the level of everything else, such as the dial tones, fax tones, and button press beeps. The default setting is Soft.
1 Press Setup.
2 Press 4, and then press 8.
This displays the Basic Fax Setup menu and then selects Ring and Beep Volume.
3 Press to select one of the options: Soft, Loud, or Off.
Note If you select Off, you will not hear a dial tone, fax tones, or incoming ring
tones.
4 Press OK.

It has low ring that i can not hear it ringing

The ring tone volume on the X1 is not very loud you will just have to choose a loud ring tone that will catch your attention. Have you tried putting both the phone and ring tone volume up by pressing the speaker symbol at the to of the screen and putting both sliders up full.

Volume control on recorings

Press the volume up button while you are trying to listen to your recordings, otherwise if that doesn't help then you just have a low recording volume which cannot be fixed.
