The only information that came with the set is the very basic installation and operation manual, no other detail. As for trouble shooting skills...limited.

The TV is going into protective shutdown. What is the model number of your set? I may be able to help you depending on the chassis number.

I cant find any info on that model number. Can you post the chassis number from the back of the set?

that chassis has had some issues with the start up voltages. How are your trouble shooting skills and do you have the service manual with schematics?

Sadly phillips and RCa are the top two most difficult to diagnose with out service manuals and equipment. Do you know how to check transistors and diodes? If so that is a good place to start by checking the regulators and diodes in the standby power supplies. I feel thats where your problem is. One of the start up voltages is out of tolerance stopping oscilation. I will see if I can locate a service manual. I am a repair tech and part owner at another facility.

Phillips 55" rear projection HD ready --power button lights up, but no picture or sound--just a clicking noise. Also, we can no longer adjust the blue convergence. The adjustment screen comes up, but we...

Got our tv in 2004 and we're having the exact same problem. When the blue convergence started going a couple months ago my husband researched the heck out of it and decided it would cost less to just replace the tv with a newer, nicer model rather than repair it. And now, as of last night, we are having the same power issue where the power button goes on, but won't stay on. It just clicks on and off and no sound or picture. Did you ever get yours fixed, or did you end up replacing?

I have a phillips matchline plasma the power light keeps flashing green then starts flashing red is there a problem with the connection between the tv and the master box?? plz help!

According to " Consumer Affairs. com", the problems with seris of Phillips plasmas are innumberable. And they all start with the flashing red light, from 3 - 7 times. Baased on the information you gave, there is something wrong with the TV itself, not your perifrials. I would contact Phillips/ Magnavox to see if they will pay for an authorized sevice center visit, or even ship you a part to solve the problem.

Sounds like the TV either failed or was thrown out of alignment during the trip to your place.

See if there is a reset button on the remote, or if there is a reset procedure for the television.

I hope you didn't pay too much for a 7 year old TV. Good luck.

Red light flashing while green light stays on

I have the same TV, your projection bulb has quit/failed.

A loud pop was heard and the picture has gone followed by a red led fault light clicking on and off.

if your tv is less than 1 year old, and you registered it with Toshiba, you could qualify for a free replacement.

otherwise expect to pay 200.00 for a new bulb from Toshiba.

only good thing is you can replace it yourself, only tool needed is a phillips screwdriver.

you can check EbaY for prices less than 175.00 to 150.00
i am on my 3rd bulb within 4 years....

good luck!

Comes on then shuts off

Hello Mha8649,

The TV shuts off because the shutdown circuit it turning the TV set off. The shutdown circuit does this because of an over-current condition. I would advise that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
