Were you able to print the pictures from the card? Don't be mad.. have to ask: did you put the card in right? Those little contacts need to make contact. Look into the card slot with a flashlight and see if any of the little contact fingers got bent in the process. That would cause the problem... and require sending the camera back for a card socket. Also there are different cards... you're using the right kind right? (just had to ask THAT one too.)

Lastly, you didn't take the cark out while the camera was writing as picture to it? Let me know. I hopw some of this helps to help you solve your problem.

Will an8gb compact flash card work in my finepix m603 camera

Your camera can't Please don't try to put any SD card in your camera. It will destroy the camera. You camera only accepts xD cards. It is a complete different card size and works different.
There are xD micro drives, but I would not buy them. it is a very small HD and are not made for years. So if you find one, it is likely it is defect.
But if you can find a 1 Gb xD card, you can put lots and lots of pictures on it.

The manual is still online

THE CAMERA BRINGING A NOTICE ON A SCREEN ERROR CF.WHAT IS POSSIBLE THE PROBLEM.

Digital Camera: How to Fix Compact Flash Memory Cards ErrorIt is not very typical for compact flash memory cards to give you an error. If you do receive an error, it most likely means that a pin within your CF card slot is bent, or your CF card has become corrupted. Unfortunately, if your CF card has become corrupted, you will need to reformat the memory card, which means that you may lose any pictures that were located on the card.
Fixing Your Flash Memory Card

You will want to remove your CF card and the batteries. Take a look inside the CF card slot to see if there is a bent pin. If you find a bent pin, you can correct this problem using a very small and skinny flat screwdriver. Moving very slowly, use the screwdriver to bend the pin back into place. You do not want to use enough force to make the pin back in one shot.
The pin does not have to be perfectly straight, but get it as close to straight as possible. Insert your CF card back into the slow very slowly. You should see the in align itself with the card. You can turn your digital camera on to verify that the compact flash memory card is now working.

Nikon 4300 CF Card Erro

The Nikon Coolpix 4300 only supports the FAT16 filesystem, so it can only support a 2GB partition. To support 4GB you need a FAT32 filesystem.
Put the card in a CF writer and attached to a PC or Mac. Partition 2x2GB partitions, then format them as FAT16. Now put it into the Coolpix 4300 and it should work.

From Cannon, I just got back my camera back, after having it reworked for the purple image problem (a recall on this model). I took pictures yesterday find yesterday and today, trying to download, I 'read'...

Take a look inside your camera's CF card slot. I suspect that you may have a bent pin in there. If so, don't fret. Although professional repair would be more costly than the value of the camera, there is a very good chance that you can repair this yourself. Please see the following:

Put compact flash card in and camera went dead.

Take out the cf and see if your camera turns back on without it. If it does, then you have a bad card...replace it.

I have an EOS Canon 400D digital SLR and my husband has bought me a Sony photo printer DDP-FP75 . I had wanted to be able to insert the memory card but it doesn't seem compatible. Can I print using the...

The two are not immediately compatible. The Canon EOS 400D uses a Compact Flash card. The Sony Photo Printer you have accepts SD and Memory Stick cards. Unfortunately, the CF card and SD card are very different.

The easiest solution I can think of would be for you to get an inexpensive card reader (make sure it accepts Compact Flash cards), attach it to your PC and then use it to read the CF card from your Canon EOS -- and print to your Sony printer.

I hope this helps. If it does, please rate the solution offered. My goal is always FixYa or Helpful, never TFT or IA. Regards,

Sounds like a corrupt format on the Compact Flash card.

Take the bettery out, then the CF card. Put the battery back in but don't put the CF card in. Switch the camera on and see if you get a different error on the screen. If you get something like 'Missing card' then the camera is OK.

You will probably have to plug the CF card into a PC/Mac via a card reader to see if you can reformat it. If it doesn't work I'm afraid it will need replacing.
