Would pay for an OS Disc, I am unable to get the download to burn properly

I have an Alesis Masterlink that worked flawlessly up until . . . you know right when I needed it most. I have been communicating with Alesis, but have not been able to get the OS to burn onto a CD in my computer. I would be willing pay a reasonable price to get a good CD.

Download the software from the link in the previous entry, and burn it to CD in your PC.

NOTE - in my experience, ONLY an OS burnt on my Win XP machine will load to the Alesis. I spent a frustrating time burning 2 or 3 OS's on my Vista machine and none of them worked. If you only have Vista on your PCs, find a friend or colleague with an XP machine to help you out.

To load the OS to the Masterlink, place a valid OS disc in the drive, and the Alesis auto detects it and asks you to confirm via the Up/Yes button if you want to load it. Confirm this and it loads in a few seconds.

Is this what you want.
Masterlink OS v2.21 For Windows & Mac
MasterLink allows new software to be installed via CD-ROM. If you have a PC or a Mac with a CD-burner, you can download the file below and create an updated CD for your MasterLink.

How to download the OS firmware?

Hi, I'm in the process of restoring a Masterlink, and have just done what you are trying to do. Go to this link:

http://www.alesis.com/masterlink

Read through the materials and then go into "Docs and Downloads" and there you will find the "System Software Update Guide", which explains how to determine which OS version you need based on your serial number, so you can create the ISO disc for the OS you need. I suggest you print it out for easy reference. Then download and unzip the OS files and create your Operating System ISO CD. The instructions are pretty clear so if you're methodical you should have no problems getting up and running soon. Have fun!

Disc failure while to burn a CD on the Alesis Masterlink ML-9600

The Alesis fitted with a standard computer CD drive, there's an online list somewhere of compatible drives. Take the lid off, unscrew the current drive, and replace. It sounds like the drive is faulty. Online instructions all over the place on how to replace these drives in PCs - it's no different in the Alesis

Want except the os file

I found that downloading and writing of the OS to a CD was operating-system dependant - I spent ages trying to get an OS downloaded through WIndows Vista to work, with no luck, but when I found a previous OS disc that I'd created with XP, that worked fine.

Masterlink says load OS

go ahead and try it. reload the os. it is avail on the alesis site.
the o.s. may be corrupted and a reflash is what it needs. if the issue persist, the HD may need to be replaced.

you will need to burn an image cd for the masterlink. most cd programs can do this. if you cant, send me an email.

No display anymore on front of Masterlink

Gotta be one for Alesis, I'm afraid, or one of their authorised agents. You can buy a CD drive or HDD for a Masterlink off the shelf of any computer store, but they don't carry display units!

www.alesis.com - hope it's still under warranty!
