Question about Refrigerators

Fluctuating temperature Danby DAR604w Intermittently the refrigerator that is set at 41 will suddenly go down to 32degrees. This is strictly a beverage refrigerator for us and as such can be quite a mess as bottles break. This has happened 3 times in the year since we purchased it. The first time we considered it a fluke, but it has happened 3 times without us touching a control panel. What is wrong with this?

If you have an internal fan motor circulating air around the inside of the cabinet, then I would suspect this as the first port of call for a problem (ie if the fan motor stops on either the door control or of its own accord and the thermostat is an air sensor then it will not be satisfied). If not then you probably have a faulty thermostat. Both of these options are pretty standard problems for a fridge guy so I would contact one to check the cabinet over. Hope this is of some help.

My magic chef mini fridge jumps from 55 to 49 degrees and it's set at 41. What can the problem be?

The first and simplest cause of unstable temperature readings occurs whenever people open the door, which almost immediately causes a change in your refrigerator/freezer's internal temperature. In this case, the temperature recorded by the electronic monitoring system is often comparable to a conventional thermometer located in the cabinet. What personnel often don't realize is that typical mercury thermometers have response times measured in minutes, meaning that it can take 5-10 minutes for the temperature shown on the thermometer to stabilize at the new value after a rapid temperature change.

A second source of temperature variation arises from the normal cycling of the compressor used to cool the refrigerator/freezer. Again, if the temperature displayed by your thermometer is being compared to the temperature reported by your electronic monitoring system, the response time of the thermometer may be masking the actual temperature fluctuations in the cabinet.

The final cause is due to electrical noise in the temperature monitoring system. This can often be identified from the temperature data in the form of random jumps in temperature from 0.5 to 5 degrees or more happening over a very short time period (such as seconds). The most common cause of electrical noise is the placement of wires from the sensor.

SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR MODEL RT72KBSL1/2012, IS HAVING TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS. for ex, temp reaches -20 than decreases to 9 degree n again -20 n vice versa. There is fluctuations also on display.

Sounds like your thermostat is sticking on and needs replaced. Before replacing check the setting on the thermostat. Almost all themostats are calibrated to maintain the proper temperature in the correct range when the thermostat is set to the mid position. If your thermostat is number 1 to 9, place it at 5. Refrigerator and freezer do not cool faster setting the controls to the coldest setting. This is misconception of a lot of people.

My frig motor runs more than it should

Each time the door is opened - temperature drops due to sensitivity of the sensor and the compressor switches on until temperature setting is achieved again. De-sensitise the sensor tip by attaching a square of Jelly from a dissolvable pack - it will stop the sudden temperature fluctuation triggering the compressor and save electricity also, but still allow the setting to remain unaltered, just not so reactive each time the door is opened for short duration access.

I came home from work and my alarm was on. The temperature on both the refrigerator side and freezer side was going up. The food in the freezer is thawing and the refrigerator is barely cool. I thought...

Let it unplug for an hour and set temp to your preferred setting and then plug in again. This will resume to normal operation.
Be sure that electricity in your home is not fluctuating or surging as it will cause false alarm or your fridge. It can intermittently operate your fridge.
Thanks for asking

Cooler wont cool below 48 degrees.

Keep a thermometer handy. (adjust temperature control knob accordingly)
Periodically monitor temperatures inside your cooler. (adjust as necessary)
Keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible to avoid temperature fluctuations

The temperature of the refrigerator compartment is
controlled by adjusting/setting the thermostat control
knob, located on the ceiling of the refrigerator
cabinet.
To start the refrigerator, and achieve maximum
cooling quickly;
• Turn the temperature control knob (using a coin
or screwdriver) clockwise to the furthest
(maximum) setting on the darker blue section of
the graduated control dial.
• Allow the refrigerator to run at this setting for 3~4
hours.
• When maximum cooling is achieved, turn back
the temperature control knob setting to the 2:00
o'clock position on the graduated blue control
dial.
• Correct cooling temperature is a key factor to
consider in storing and dispensing draught beer.
• Optimum temperature for serving draught beer is
between 34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC)
• To maintain temperatures ranging between
34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC) We recommend the
thermostat knob be positioned at the "2:00
o'clock" setting on the graduated blue control dial.
• To turn off the refrigerator, (no cooling) rotate the
control knob to the "0" position.

Danby wine cooler

Is it because your keypad not functioning, meaning does the number change when you press the arrow up or down? Or when you set it, (let's say 12 Cel.) it does not reach down to that temperature. Then it could be either it's a sealed system problem( leaking refrigerant or under charge if it's a new unit). Or it could be a control problem( electronic control or sensor)
