My averatec 3200h stopped

My averatec 3200h stopped producing full color on the external monitor port

Is there and adjustment or control to restore this port to the original color condition?

Maybe your external monitor is faulty.
old monitors usually have color problem.
try with a good working monitor.
then you will know if it is the monitor or you external port problem.

Vertical gray lines


If you can obtain a desktop monitor used for PCs, plug it into the side port on the laptop. Start up the system and see if it runs OK on the external monitor. If so, the problem is with the LCD display on the laptop.

Toshiba satellite C855D-S5105 HDMI


For the Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5105, HDMI is an option.

If present, believe it to be on the Left side, same as the VGA port.

User Manual states plug external monitor device into laptop, then turn external monitor device on.
External monitor device should automatically be seen by laptop.

If not press, and hold down on the Fn key, and at the same time, tap on the F4 key until the display option you want is shown. Then press the Enter key.

Touchscreen?
That requires a knowledge of Windows 8, which I do not have a full understanding of yet. The User Interface of Windows 8.

It isn't stated by Toshiba, (At least that I could find), as to if the HDMI port; is just that. An HDMI port, or a Mini-Port HDMI port,

There are HDMI adapters, and HDMI cables; that adapt from regular HDMI to Mini-Port HDMI.

There are adapters that connect to a VGA port, and convert to an HDMI port.

I have an Averatec all in 1 D100 that the screen has lines all through it...I still get a picture but it has lines


Lines is a LCD cable or LCD problem, sometimes it can be video card. Try to check LCD cable soldering, check LCD cable, try to replace LCD, befor do it check your PC with other external monitor - if external monitor works fine then do it...

Usb ports stop working


Try a system restore back dating before this became a problem, if this fails you can reverse the process.

When I use the external monitor S-video port on my Dell Inspiron 1721 running Windows 7 it only displays in black and white despite the internal monitor showing the screen in color.


Okay. For Windows Vista OS.

Go to Control Panel.

Under the Control Panel Home, select Additional Options at the bottom right of the list.

Click on Appearance and Personalization:

At the top right corner of the dialogue box, under Personalization, select "adjust screen resolution"

This will bring you to display settings:

Click the button that says "identify monitors" As each is displayed, it will present a number for which is the default or main monitor (1 or 2) 1 is the main monitor.

To change the external to the main or number one monitor: simply drag the #1 monitor to the left side (if not already there) If it is, you'll want to set the external as the default:

Do this:

While in Display settings, if the external is the #1 monitor, make sure to check the box for "extend the desktop to this monitor" and "this is my main monitor" for the external display. This should switch all settings to the external monitor.

Also, make sure the the resolution is correct for the size monitor you have. For a 20" (such as mine, external Dell monitor) the resolution is at the highest (1920 x 1080).

Also make sure it reads (to the right of that) "highest 32 bit). If this is not an options, make sure you're adjusting the external monitor and not the laptop screen. Otherwise you may need to upgrade your video card.

You should not need to do this though.

After you have set this, go to Advanced Settings and select Monitor. You will see at the top, a list of two monitors; your external with it's brand and name - and the laptop screen type and name. Select the external monitor name: Click on properties, drivers and Update Driver, then select to Automatically search online for driver.

When pluging in an exterior monitor, nothing apears on the exterior monitor?


Try power up the monitor first then the notebook.
This will automatically switch the video output to the external video port first. If this doesn't work then most likely there is a video card fault.

My Epson EMP-S4 LCD projector does not display images from my Averatec C3500 laptop. It displays "No signal".. Do i have to press any keys before it would display? I suppose it would automatically project...


When you connect a data projector or external monitor to the external video port on the laptop, power up the data projector or external monitor first then the laptop. The video info will automatically divert to the data projector/external monitor automatically.
If you have already had powered up the laptop first, most laptops will allow you to toggle between the LCD screen and the external video port by pressing the Fn key plus one of the Function keys, this key will have a screen/laptop symbol.

I have no color red on monitor.


Confirm the "no color red" by testing with another PC. If the same condition check if a color adjustment on the monitor is possible... like maybe a default setting. If the monitor still produces a bit of red it might be possible to edit the color adjustments using the advanced graphics adjustments; or a graphics program that your computers' manufacturer has available on your computer.

If nothing works the monitor may need repairs.

Does not sound good, the onboard video chip is more than likely fried. all you can do now is try plugging in a external monitor and see if that port still works. You may try replacing the LCD inverter board, but I don't think it will help.
