This player really sucks ... and believe ... i love sandisk players... my solution for this was the following:
i ve got a wall charger (for itself it almost did nothing)
i put my player to dial and FM station (like i was listenning to a radio)
waited some seconds and connected my charger.

it appears that the player freezes but after 2 to 4 hours it get full charged.

before that i tried everything and nothig was solving the problem.

My sansa when its connected to my computer comes on works syncs and everything so as i disconnect it from my computer it' s dead and wont turn on

Three possibilities;
1) You have a dead battery because the battery is no good.
2) You have a dead battery because your Sansa is no longer charging the battery.
3) You have a dead battery because you didn't leave your Sansa tethered long enough to charge it up.

When you have the Sansa c250 tethered to the computer, you should see a tiny yellow lightning bolt flashing, and a battery icon that shows the amount of charge on the battery.

If you see the lightning bolt, but the battery does not charge after being tethered to a working computer or charger for 24 hours, you may need a new battery. You can get one on Amazon.com. Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.com/HQRP-Replacement-Battery-Universal-Protector/dp/B001NZ981S

If you see the lightning bolt, and the battery charges after 24 hours, AND your player works when unplugged--Problem solved! You just need to let it charge for a longer time.

If you do not see the lightning bolt when the player is tethered, and the battery indicator shows "empty," It's likely that the internal plug to your Sansa c250 has broken. Your Sansa is no longer able to charge the battery.

If you happen to be an electrical engineer, or otherwise have a shop full of electronics equipment (including signal injector, volt-ohm meter, needle-tip soldering iron, and stereo magnifying goggles with work lamps) you may be able to fix it yourself. Otherwise, forget it-- your Sansa is dead.

If it's still under warranty, try to get it replaced. Failing that, it's time to get a new MP3 player.

Hope that helps! Please post a message to let others know what happened to your Sansa player.

My Sansa c250 won't charge properly. Initially when I bought it, I used it with a Windows XP PC, no sweat. That computer died and I began charging it with an OSX instead. It worked for a while, but after a...

I had a similar problem. My Sansa c250 would charge, when plugged into the computer. It would read that it was writing but the computer did not recognized that the Sansa c250 was connected. I switched to a different USB port and got the same results. I then realized that the two ports I was using were 1.0 port and idmedeatly when inserted in the 2.0 port it began charging and the computer recongized the Sansa c250. I know this won't solve every charging problem one may have. Changing the battery would be easier in some cases. Especially if they were sold like the AA or AAA.

Sansa c250 MP3 player

You don't need one, just go to settings, go down to "usb" mode, and if it says "playsforsure" and "rhapsody", pick "rhapsody" if it says "MTP" or "MSC" pick "MTP". Then, connect it to your computer. Go to your "my computer" folder, double click on the sansa. Then go to "tools" on your toolbar, click on "folder options", then click on the "view" tab, then go down to where it says "hidden files and folders", and check off "show hidden files". Click Apply, then OK. You should now see a translucent folder that says "music". Feel free to drag and drop any MP3 formatted music onto your computer. Please keep in mind that I've only verified this working on windows XP SP2, and that if it's not one mode, then it's the other, I know that Rhapsody is the mode you want to be in, but not so sure if it's MSC or MTP mode, try one, then switch it if it doesn't work Good Luck EE
