Driver for KOGI Monitor.

Dear Fix Ya'!
We just purchased a new ACER M3100 Desktop computer and cannot get it to run, except for being in SAFE MODE, with my KOGI LCD Monitor Model # L7EH-TA. From other sources I understand I need a driver for the monitor but I cannot find one anywhere. I would really appreciate it if you could guide me, send me or point in the right direction to find one. The phone Tech @ Acer told me that since the monitor is appx. 5 years old that Window VISTA may not have a driver available. If you know of a driver please be as specific as possible as to where I go to download it.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Sincerely, Jane Pinard

For Vista, try this:
In hardware manager, double-click on 'Monitors'.  Double-click on 'Generic Non-PNP Monitor'.  CLick on 'Driver' tab.  Click 'Update Driver'.  Then 'Browse...', then Let Me Pick...', then 'Generic PnP Monitor', then 'Next'.  Should be good to go.

Until you find a driver try this. Right click on a empty spot on your desktop and click on properties,
Click on the settings tab at the top and lower the screen resolution to 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768. click apply, exit and reboot. Vista is set by default to run high and the old monitors can't display it.

When I boot my computer the monitor flashes the Windows XP logo then goes dark and the computer shuts down and then restarts itself and start the process all over again and again

Try starting it in safe mode, F8 during the boot process, this loads a windows shell, once active, run a system restore.

(Programmes - Accessories - System tools - System restore)

Choose a date prior to your problems.

Monitor is black

Try booting in safe mode per instructions here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r4873371-fixing_out_range_format_not_supported

You need to find out if the proper video card driver is installed when you use recovery disk. Compaq usually supply separate disk for the drivers.
Try using resolution of 1024x 768 @60 Hz first and go up from there.

You may try the following steps:

Boot the computer in safe mode.
While booting press the F8 key and on the Windows Advance boot screen, select safe mode and press enter.
Once you are on the logon screen, select Administrator account.
Click on Start and rightl click on My computer, then click properties
Go to hardware tab and click on Device manager.
In the device manager look for Display adapter, Click on the + sign, right click on the listed devices and uninstall.
Now you should be able to boot the computer in normal mode.

When booting up my windows is loading and then my screen goes black and come up with an error: recomended resolution is 1280x1024... how do I fix this?

Most probably your computer has a higher resolution or refresh frequencies set in Desktop Settings than supported by the monitor. It might be also, that you have previously installed a monitor driver for a different monitor model, and the computer is using resolutions and frequencies supported by that previous monitor, with which your new one can't cope.
The solution would be to boot the computer in safe mode (hit F8 key when the computer is starting, you can hit it a couple of times, until you see a menu; choose "Safe Mode" and hit Enter).
Go to Desktop Properties, change to Settings tab, and click "Advanced" button. In the new window choose "Monitor" tab and change the monitor to "Plug and Play monitor". Click OK to accept the settings and close both windows.
Now reboot the computer - it should start with a rather low resolution, but the picture should be visible. Now you have to go to your Desktop Settings again, Advanced tab, and move the resolution slider to position 1280x1024. Accept and enjoy.
If the computer still doesn't boot, go to safe mode again, go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, drill down to Monitors, and delete all the monitor devices installed. After a reboot, system should start up and find new hardware, and install Plug and Play monitor. Set the optimum resolution of 1280x1024 as written before.

Startt the pc in SAFE MODE  and change thr resolution of the screen, the computer does not work on 1280 X1024, so AT THE BOOT TIME  PRES F8 chose save mode with windows, tan on the property of the display change the video resolution at 1280 X1024, and i think you don't have the video driver instaled not sure but u can chek that as well.chek run WINDOWS UPDATE if your diver is not in place. to chek driver take a look in computer management  DEVICE MANAGER.

Does not work with new desktop

All you have to do is change the monitor resolution to that mode. That's probably the maximum resolution you will get with that monitor, video card, and comptuer.

'Input Format Not Supported' (please help me!)

OK try booting up in "Safe Mode" Press F8 just after Turn on, when and if ya boot into safe mode then adjust your Video settings to say 1024x768x32bit and then reboot, if all good then when you are at the desktop, then adjust the settings to whatever you require... maybe 1280x1024x32bit.. Ya all good. If this doesn't work.. try the Monitor on another PC.. see if it works... if it does.. then maybe ya Video card is going/gone "Toes up" if not, then ya got a fault in your monitor, usually some sort of Power Supply problem or the like.
