Try pushing in the load tray with the flap open . sometimes the little loading belt slips and the tray with dvd on does not go all the way in.

How to stop buffering

  • 1 Allow the movie to load completely, or at least halfway, before you start to watch it to stop video buffering.
  • 2 Start the movie and then hit stop until the movie has fully or halfway loaded. As the movie is loading, you should see a yellow or gray line. The line you see will get longer as it loads.
  • 3 Close all windows that you don't need. Having too many windows open will slow the loading process.
  • 4 Resume play once the movie is at least halfway loaded or fully loaded. By this time, you should be able to enjoy the movie without the video buffering or constant starting and stopping.

Screen says loading dvd- movie never begins

Sounds to me like the laser has gone bad. What you are seeing is video that is the start screen. The unit is trying to read the disc to play. You could try to tap the unit on the side to jolt the pickup assembly as maybe its stuck in a spot but don't hit too hard and use a disc that you don't mind if it gets scratched. It probably won't scratch the disc but just in case. The Laser can go out even thou its only a year old they are made very cheaply now.
Hope this helps some.

My ps3 will not play blue ray or my games.

the blue ray laser has two high energy beams at 450nm(bluelight) and 730nm (redlight). the highpower diode on your machine im afraid has failed (due to the extreme heat conditions in ur PS3). you need to install a new laser ..only 100 i charge or 160 from sony (150+TAX 2 week wait)
Now if you have the newer model laser KES410ACA, then you have 2 SEPARATE light sources...these tend not to fail as often
